Kevin grinned like he’d just heard the best news and puffed up with pride. “She’s not a student.”
“Not a student? Wait, is she a professor?” another guy chimed in, clearly confused.
Garrett stared at the figure across the room. The more he looked, the more familiar she seemed. He sucked in a breath, surprise flickering across his face. “Lydia?”
Lydia glanced over, catching the sound of her name. When she saw Garrett, she stopped what she was doing and smiled. “Garrett, hi.”
The other researchers exchanged stunned looks.
What was happening here?
Richard, who looked to be in his forties, peered from Lydia to Garrett, his confusion obvious. “Mr. Norwood, who is she?”
Wells, another researcher, turned to Garrett. “You know her?”
Garrett walked right over to Lydia and introduced her without a second thought. “This is my sister, Lydia. She’s a freshman here at Capital Med School.”
The researchers looked even more surprised at the mention of her name. Lydia. They’d all heard about her. She’s the national top scorer this year, the girl who had picked Capital Med School out of all the options. Some had even talked about taking her on as a student if she showed the right promise.
But now they were finding out she was Garrett’s sister?
“Mr. Norwood, wait, Lydia’s your real sister?” someone asked, eyebrows raised.
They were all thrown off. Everyone knew Garrett’s only sister was supposed to be Lucinda. So who was Lydia?
Garrett nodded. “She’s my biological sister. No mistake.”
Lydia slipped off her mask and greeted everyone politely. Most of the researchers, except for Garrett, were old enough to be her uncle or even her granddad.
Kevin just laughed again. “We’re more like friends.”
Everyone stared, stunned speechless. Even Garrett was floored. It was hard to picture Kevin, a legend in medicine, being friends with Lydia, who was only eighteen. How did an eighteen-year-old girl end up so close to someone like him?
Garrett knew Lydia was talented, but he never imagined she and Kevin were this tight.
Richard couldn’t help himself. “So, just how good is Lydia now?”
Kevin decided to stop dodging the question. He stared at them and said seriously, “She’s the one you’ve all been wanting to meet.”
The room fell silent. Wait, what? Did they hear that right? This freshman, this eighteen-year-old girl, was the person they’d come here to see? Was she Miracle Hands?
Richard and the others couldn’t believe it. They tried to laugh it off. “Kevin, that’s a joke we’re not ready for.”

Olha a história bem boa só algumas coisas são chatas ( nesse tipo de história sempre troca as filhas pela a da empregada ou então pegam uma menina pra criar) pelo menos eles tratam a filha bem só enche o saco que até agora a Lucinda tá lá enchendo ! Fora isso tá bom Connor é um fofo a família dela a ama muito só Lucinda pra abaixar o nível do livro já era pra ter resolvido isso e fazer ela pagar mais tudo bem li um livro chinês que era parecido só algumas coisas diferentes ,ais mesma coisa tipo ela salvou o Connor no início lá ela salvava o avô dele , no chinês ela não tinha um irmão mais novo com os pais adotivos , a mãe dela tinha 2 irmãos e todos os avós estavam vivos mais história quase igual e tem coisas tipo o triângulo que lá TB tinha até a Lucinda que no chines TB ficou o livro todo aprontando só no final a família descobria e se livrava dela aí ela ia morar com o cara que ela usa pra disfarçar que não gosta do Connor aí depois ainda quase matava a irmã dele e a mãe dele que ele via como ela era...
