Lucas rubbed his chin. “That girl’s full of secrets. Should I look into it?”

Sebastian lifted his eyes and looked at him calmly. “Would you want me to dig into your secrets?”

Lucas clicked his tongue. “You’re really protecting her. You’re not even a little curious?”

Upstairs, Noelle was walking down and happened to hear that last line. The corner of her lips curved slightly.

At the Kain estate, Jasper tried calling Noelle several times over the past few days, but she never answered.
