“Noelle, your mock SAT score was incredible. We want to give you special support. After discussing it, we’d like to transfer you to Brighthill High’s Class One for this final month of SAT prep. They have the best teachers and the best study environment in Riverdale. What do you think?”

Oswald pressed his lips. It was true–Brighthill High had everything. Plus, if Noelle transferred, she could take the SAT as a regular high school student, which would stop people from talking trash about her being a tech school kid.

“Noelle, Brighthill High does have a better environment.”

Noelle just looked up lazily. “I’m good. I’m not transferring.”

Everyone froze, including Bryan. They didn’t expect Noelle to say no.

Moving from a tech school to Brighthill High was something most students could only dream of. It would even erase her “tech school” label. But she turned it down.
