This clueless guy has gotten bolder and more proactive ever since his leg healed, Noelle thought.
One minute later.
“It’s even sweeter now.”
Sebastian released her, resting his forehead against hers. His voice was hoarse, dangerously
Noelle’s cheeks flushed. Looking into his deep eyes so close to her, she couldn’t help but laugh. “Then want another taste?”
She leaned in as if to kiss him again, but Sebastian gently stopped her.
“The syrup’s about to burn,” he reminded her helplessly, though his eyes were still glued to her face.
“Okay, fine. Then I’ll let you taste it next time!” Noelle hummed and finally stopped fooling around.
Sebastian kept working on the stuffed chewy candy while she busied herself nearby, poking here and fiddling there.
Ding!
Suddenly.
Noelle’s phone chimed.
She picked it up and glanced at the screen.
It was a message from Alina.
“Noey, I’m in Riverdale. Do you have time to meet up? Dinner’s on me. I also have a few things I wanna talk to you about.”
Noelle raised an eyebrow.
Alina is actually in Riverdale?
She thought for a moment and replied, “I’m free See you tonight.”
At the restaurant that evening.

“I came to Riverdale this time to take care of some personal matters,” Alina said as she looked at Noelle. “Since you’re here too, I thought I’d invite you out. I didn’t interrupt anything, did
I?”
Noelle smiled. “No, I happened to be free tonight.”
Alina spoke gently. “I heard you’re taking the SAT soon. Do you have any colleges in mind? If you need help with anything, I can assist.”
“No need. I’ve got it.”
Given her grades at trade school, “I’ve got it” is a reach
Alina held her cup, fingers tracing the rim. “Noey, you don’t have to be polite with me. You saved Madeline. I’ve long since treated you like my own little sister. If you ever need anything, just tell me. If I can help, I will.
“Oh, right.” Alina took out another bag and handed it to Noelle. “It’s my first time in Riverdale, and I didn’t know what to get you, so bought some clothes and skincare products. There’s also a supplementary card. No limit. You can buy whatever you want.”
Noelle frowned slightly. Clothes and skincare were one thing, but Alina had even given her an unlimited card. That was … a bit too generous
Is it just my imagination? I always feel like Alina’s attitude toward me is a little strange.
The food arrived, and they began eating.
But Alina barely touched her food. Even when she picked something up, she only placed it on her plate. Most of the time, she was looking a Noelle, a complicated glint flickering in her
eyes.
Viola walked into the restaurant arm–in–arm with Jasper.
With the SAT coming up, Jasper had deliberately brought Viola out for dinner to help her
relax.
He hadn’t expected to run into Noelle.
Jasper saw Noelle and paused, but in the end said nothing, guiding Viola toward another area.
He didn’t want a direct confrontation with Noell.
Viola had also seen Noelle. She narrowed her eyes and tugged Jasper toward her instead.

Viola stopped behind Noelle’s seat. At that moment, a server carrying a pot of scalding hot soup walked by. Viola subtly stuck out her foot. The server stumbled, and the scalding soup slipped from his hands, about to spill straight down over Noelle’s head.
Alina’s face changed instantly.
Almost on instinct, she sprang to her feet and yanked Noelle toward her, and leaned her own back into the path of the oncoming soup, shouting sharply, “Watch out!”
With the piercing crash of shattered porcelain, most of the soup splashed onto empty space. But the flying liquid and hot shards still splattered across Alina’s arm and back.
She let out a muffled groan, her brows knitting tightly. Yet the first thing she did was shield Noelle in her arms.
Noelle heard her sharp intake of breath. She straightened at once and turned around, her gaze sweeping coldly over the spilled soup and broken pieces on the floor, then locking onto Alina’s rapidly reddening arm. Her eyes turned icy.
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to!” The terrified server was deathly pale, apologizing over and over, his voice shaking. “T–this lady suddenly stuck out her foot…”
Viola immediately put on a shocked, innocent expression. She clung tightly to Jasper’s arm and protested pitifully, “Jasper! He’s lying! I just lost my balance and accidentally bumped into him… How could I have done that on purpose? Do I look like that kind of person?”
Noelle first checked Alina’s injury. Seeing the large patches of red, violence flashed in her eyes. When she heard Viola’s words, that fury only deepened.
She didn’t say a single extra word. She grabbed a plate from the table and smashed it straight down onto Viola’s head.
The plate held half–eaten pasta, which slid all over Viola’s hair and face!
