Especially last time, when Zeph bullied Eden and ended up getting brutally taught a lesson by Elliot and his people, he was definitely here to settle’the score.
Elliot glanced at Noelle and Helen. If it were just him, he wouldn’t be afraid. But with Noelle and Helen here, they couldn’t get hurt.
“I still remember what happened last time. This time, I’m getting it back,” Zeph sneered, his tongue pressing against the inside of his cheek as he stared at Elliot, his eyes filled with vicious intent.
Elliot tightened his grip on the shopping bags and didn’t move.
“Oh? What’s wrong? Bringing two dead weights with you today, so you’re scared now? Not brave enough to go head–on with me anymore?” Zeph saw his hesitation and pushed even further.
The Invictus Alliance members behind him burst into laughter, their eyes roaming maliciously over Noelle and Helen, who were shielded behind Elliot.
“How about this, drop to your knees and beg. Then pay 10 times the medical bills for the guys you hurt last time. And then let those two come drink with me for a bit. Do that, and I’ll let you walk away. What do you say?” Zeph said, his leering gaze lingering on
them.
Elliot’s fists clenched, his knuckles turning white. The shopping bags hanging from his neck swayed slightly with his restrained breathing.
“Elliot…” Eden was just as tense.
Elliot let out a breath and handed all the shopping bags to Eden.
“In a minute, I’ll fight them. You take Mrs. Menzie and Ms. Brewer and leave immediately. Go get backup.”
Elliot didn’t like Noelle or Helen, but they belonged to Sebastian. Even if he died here, he couldn’t let anything happen to them.
“But…” Eden panicked. He was no match for them alone. Zeph’s group would beat him to death.
“What kind of people are they, that you’re this afraid?” Noelle asked calmly.
Elliot glanced at her and clearly didn’t want to answer.
Eden lowered his voice. “They’re from the Invictus Alliance. The one in front is Zeph Snee, the deputy leader’s son.”
Invictus Alliance?
The name sounded familiar to Noelle.
She thought for a moment, then suddenly remembered.
Invictus Alliance was Troy Snee’s organization.
Back then, Troy had left Alliance 749 and founded Invictus Alliance on his own. Even the emblem on their uniforms had been designed by her.
No wonder she had felt it looked familiar at first glance.

What a coincidence.
“Go. Now,” Elliot growled.
Without hesitation, he stepped forward toward Zeph and his men, using his body to form a barrier and block their advance, buying time for Noelle and the others to leave.
“Damn it. Beat this kid to death. Don’t hold back,” Zeph shouted angrily, his face twisted with rage.
The group behind him rushed forward all at once, instantly surrounding Elliot, who was fighting alone.
Elliot was skilled, but there were simply too many of them. He was no match for the numbers.
Zeph kicked him hard in the stomach. Elliot let out a muffled groan as his back slammed heavily into the ground. Even so, he clung tightly to Zeph’s leg. He was using his life to hold them back.
Eden’s eyes turned red. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed Noelle and Helen’s hands. “Mrs. Menzie, we have to go. Now.”
No matter what, they had to protect Noelle.
They also had to get help as soon as possible to save Elliot.
But when he pulled Noelle hard, she didn’t move.
He pulled again-
Still nothing.
“Mrs. Menzie…”
Eden stared blankly at Noelle, who was still standing in place. How was their madam this strong?
Elliot lay on the ground, blood spraying from his mouth. It felt as though his internal organs were being crushed, yet he still held on to Zeph’s leg with all his strength.
He thought Eden had already taken Noelle and Helen away. But when he struggled to turn his head, he saw Noelle still standing there, completely unmoving.
Elliot’s eyes widened in shock, and he spat out another mouthful of blood.
Why was Noelle still here?
His eyes burned red as he used the last of his strength to roar, “Go!”
“Damn you,” Zeph cursed.
He tried to yank his leg free, but Elliot’s grip was terrifyingly strong, like iron clamps locking him in place.
Furious, Zeph lifted his other leg and kicked Elliot hard in the back.
“Thud!”
There was a heavy impact.
