Another sandbag burst apart. Sand scattered through the moonlight like golden dust.
Eden shot to his feet.
Elliot’s eyes flew open. He stared at his fist in disbelief.
That punch was stronger than anything he’d ever thrown, yet his body felt lighter than before.
“Remember this,” Noelle said, approval flashing in her eyes. “This is your true strength.”
With a few more days of solid practice, joining the main unit wouldn’t be hard for Elliot at all.
They kept training, unaware that from the shadows, a pair of cold eyes was watching them.
They wrapped up at ten. Noelle sent Elliot home first, then headed back to the villa.
Sebastian was still awake, sitting on the couch with a file in hand.
“Working this late?” Noelle dropped beside him naturally, carrying the chill of night and a faint sheen of sweat.
Sebastian set the file aside and looked at her for a moment. “Coaching them this long? You really care.”
She caught the faint jealousy in his tone and laughed softly. “What’s this? Our great officer is getting jealous of his own people?”
“You never taught me like that.”
His voice lowered, a hint of hurt showing through.
Noelle blinked, surprised. She’d never seen him act like that.
She couldn’t help but smile. Leaning in, she gently tilted his chin upward and looked straight into his eyes, catching a rare flash of grievance.
She teased, slow and playful. “Mr. Menzie, are you trying to act cute?”
Sebastian caught her mischievous hand. His palm was warm.
He didn’t deny it. Pressing her hand to his cheek, he said deeply, “Can’t I?”
That shameless answer softened her completely.
Seeing someone so serious act like that made her a little excited.
“Then I’ll teach you too.”
Noelle smiled, mischief shining in her eyes.
She tapped his eyebrow lightly. “Lesson one–relax.”

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. Before he could respond, her finger slid down his nose and brushed his lips.
“You’re way too tense, Mr. Menzie.”
She copied her coaching tone, but her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. “Here, here, and here-”
Her finger drifted lower, past his throat, stopping at his chest.
Sebastian’s gaze darkened as he caught her wandering hand. “And what kind of lesson is this?”
Noelle leaned closer, then swung a leg over him and sat astride his lap.
He let out a low sound and instinctively held her waist.
“Teaching our dear officer to do the things grown–ups do.”
Noelle smiled brightly, then bent down and kissed him.
The kiss was quick, yet soft and pulling.

Sebastian froze for a split second, then took control. He tightened at her waist with one hand while holding the back of her neck with the other, deepening the kiss.
His response burned hotter than she expected, like a volcano finally breaking free.
Their breaths tangled, carrying the leftover heat from training mixed with her clean scent.
“So this is your teaching?”
He gasped the words, voice rough.
Noelle bit his lower lip lightly, fingers already working at his shirt. “You don’t like it?”
Her last word disappeared under his mouth. Sebastian swallowed her words whole.
“I like it…”
At first, Noelle was the one teasing. Later, she was the one asking him to stop.
She was almost suffocating from the kiss. His hands were wicked and precise, leaving her weak all over.
