They had just stepped into the private room they had reserved and sat down when chaos broke out just past the hallway.

Sir! Sir! Can you hear me?!

Call 911! Somebody just collapsed!

It might be a heart attack! Is anyone here a doctor?!

Noelle and Sebastian locked eyes and stood up at the same time. They moved quickly toward the noise.

When they reached the corner near the restroom hallway, they found an elderly man collapsed on the ground. He was wearing a plain gray sport coat. His white hair was neatly combed, but his face had turned a frightening bluish color. His breathing came in short, tight gasps. One hand was gripping his chest.

Only one man was beside him. He looked like a chauffeur and was clearly panicking. He kept trying to lift the old man, but his hands were shaking too much. Everyone else in the room had backed away. No one dared to step in.

Noelle’s eyes narrowed. She pushed through the bystanders.

Move! I’m a doctor!

Sebastian followed right behind her. The second he saw the man’s face, his gaze turned cold.

t was Angus.

Voelle dropped to the ground beside him and checked his vitals.

His consciousness was slipping. His pulse was racing but faint. His breathing was shallow. She recognized it immediately. Acute heart failure. Possibly with a heart attack.

Does he have nitroglycerin? Any heart medication?

She fired the question toward the driver while pulling her emergency needle kit from her bag.

The man stammered as he shook his head. NNo. He just wanted some fresh air today. He said not to bring anything

Noelle didn’t wait for more. There was no time.

She snapped her fingers, and three needles flashed between them. She angled them fast and sharp, piercing into three critical points across Angus’s chest without missing a beat.

Sebastian! Hold him upright! Loosen the top of his shirt!

Sebastian knelt beside her. His arms were steady as he lifted Angus into a halfseated position and unfastened the collar of his

acket.

Voelle kept working, adjusting the needles as she channeled her energy through the metal threads. She stimulated the heart points, clearing the blockage one pulse at a time.

She didn’t blink. She didn’t flinch. It was like nothing else existed around her.

Within a few minutes, under the silent gaze of the entire room, Angus’s face started to regain color. His breathing calmed.

His eyelids twitched before finally opening.

His vision blurred, but then slowly, a young woman’s face came into view. She was striking, graceful, and hauntingly familiar.

Anguseyes flew open. His pupils shrank.

That face. That expression. She looked just like his late wife.

Even more than his daughter ever had.

He saw his wife’s youth staring back at him. His lips trembled.

How was this possible?

How could she look so much like her?

It was too much.

You

His mouth barely moved. He tried to speak, but his voice failed. Only one broken sound escaped his throat.

Noelle saw that he was awake. She stayed focused. She took out one of her custom heart pills and handed it to the driver. Water. Help him take it slowly.

The driver finally snapped back to reality and rushed to follow her instructions.

Once Angus swallowed the pill, his breathing steadied even more. But his eyes never left Noelle. He stared like she held some kind of answer he had been looking for his entire life.

Noelle noticed. She frowned a little but assumed he was just overwhelmed.

She removed the needles and turned to the driver. He’s stable, but he needs to go to the hospital right now. I already called. The ambulance should be arriving.

And it did.

But just as the medics were about to lift him onto the stretcher, Angus reached out and grabbed Noelle’s wrist.

His hand shook, but his grip was firm.
