I will give you back everything that belongs to you, openly and proudly! So everyone will know that you are my granddaughter!”

Noelle looked into his earnest eyes, but didn’t answer right away.

She lowered her eyes. Her long lashes cast a small shadow on her face, hiding the emotions in her eyes.

Angus didn’t push her. He knew she needed time to think and accept everything.

He said many comforting words and promises. At last, with Marley supporting him, he slowly left the house, turning back again and again, unwilling to leave.
