Just then, a rough male voice came from the woman’s side of the call. A door slammed open. The woman’s face changed at once. Panic filled her eyes. “Sorry, my manager is here,” she said quickly to the camera.
Then the call suddenly ended.
The last image on the screen showed her pale face. She looked terrified.
The livestream switched back to the studio, but no one spoke. Everyone was still thinking about the interrupted call and the fear on the woman’s face.
Noelle frowned even more. She could feel that woman’s condition was getting worse fast. Her body was close to collapsing.
Noelle immediately pulled out her phone and sent Jake a message with the exact location. “She doesn’t have a lot of time. Find her now and send her to the hospital. Also deal with the problem at her company.”
“Lucy! You still have time to complain online? Guess your workload’s way too light, huh?” a man shouted.
The office door slammed open. The manager stormed inside and threw a stack of papers onto Lucy Hodge’s desk. The papers were scattered everywhere. “I watched that livestream too!” he yelled. Spit flew from his mouth as he spoke. “How dare you complain the company is working you to the bone? You must think your job is easy!” He pointed at the pile of drawings. “You’re not going home tonight. Redo every single sketch exactly the way I told you. Every one of them! If you don’t finish them, don’t bother coming back tomorrow. And Nova Studio? Don’t even dream about it!”
Lucy trembled from head to toe. Her face turned pale like chalk. She wanted to explain, but she did not have the strength to speak.
At that moment, the phone on her desk rang again. It was her mother, calling to ask for money.
Lucy stared at the screen for a moment. Then she hung up without a word. Her fingers shook as she picked up her pen. But her vision was already growing dark. Her heart pounded wildly, as if it might burst out of her chest.
She forced herself to draw a few lines. The lines blurred. Her breathing became harder and harder. Then everything went black. Lucy slipped from her chair and collapsed onto the floor, completely unconscious.
‘Hey! Lucy! Stop pretending!” the manager snapped. At first, he did not take it seriously. He even kicked her leg and cursed under his breath. But Lucy did not move at all. The manager gets panicked.
He quickly crouched down and checked her breathing. It was so weak he could barely feel it.
“Quick! Get her out of here!” he shouted, his face turning pale. “Don’t let her die in the office!”
He pointed at two coworkers who were already scared out of their minds. “Take her downstairs! Call a cab. No, wait! Just dump her somewhere farther away! This has nothing to do with us. Got it?!”
The two coworkers rushed forward in panic. They tried to drag Lucy’s unconscious body toward the door. Just then, the front desk receptionist ran in, breathing hard “B–boss!” she stammered, her voice shaking. “P people from Nova Studio are here! They said they’re looking for Lucy!”
“What?!” The manager’s legs nearly gave out

He turned outside in a panic. At the front desk stood two men in black suits. Their expressions were cold and serious. The man in front stepped forward. His sharp eyes swept across the room. “We’re from Nova Studio,” he said calmly. “We’re here for Ms. Hodge. Where is she?
The manager wiped the sweat from his forehead. His voice shook as he spoke. “S–She wasn’t feeling well earlier, so she already
left.”
The assistant didn’t bother responding. He simply walked inside with his team.
A moment later, they found Lucy. Two male cov

The assistant’s expression turned cold. He stepped forward immediately to check her condition while dialing a number. “Mr. Curry, we found her,” he said quickly. “Her condition is critical. She’s unconscious and needs to go to the hospital right away.”
On the other end of the phone, Jake Curry’s voice was cold and decisive. “Send her to the best hospital immediately. Call the specialists. I’m on my way

The manager and the co kers stood frozen in place. Their faces were as pale as paper. They knew it now. This time, they had really messed up.
But the manager still couldn’t understand it.
Wasn’t it just a livestream? And just some doctor on the show? How did a few words from that docto rushing over like this?
Was she really that powerful?

Lucy slowly woke up. Her whole body ached as if it had been taken apart and put back together. But the terrifying feeling of suffocation, the feeling that she might die at any second, was gone.
She stared blankly at the white ceiling. Then, she slowly closed her eyes. They landed on the man sitting beside her bed.
He wore a high–quality black shirt. The sleeves were slightly rolled up, revealing strong, clean lines in his forearms.
His face was handsome, with deep–set eyes and a cool aura.
In his hands were her sketches.
