So much pain that tears spilled out again.
She stayed on the cold floor. Slowly, she lifted her head and looked at the woman leaning lazily on the couch.
Noelle looked down at her from above. Her face was calm. But her eyes were cold. Mocking.
Viola dug her nails deep into her palms.
“Feed me,” Noelle said.
Viola didn’t move.
Noelle didn’t rush her. She just waited.
Jasper stood nearby and glanced at Viola.
His gaze was flat. No warmth at all.
He tipped his chin slightly.
The bodyguards moved at once. Each grabbed one of Viola’s hands and twisted hard-
“Arghhh!”
Viola screamed. It felt like her bones might snap.
“Feed her,” one of them said coldly.
Viola trembled all over. Tears blurred her vision.
She finally understood. Tonight, she had no choice. She would feed Noelle, whether she wanted to or not.
Otherwise, they would break her hands.
Shaking and humiliated, she climbed up and picked up a spoon. Scooped some food. Held it out to Noelle’s mouth.
Noelle didn’t open her mouth.
She just watched her. A mocking smile curved her lips.
Viola,” she said, “do you know what you look like right now?
‘A dog begging for scraps. Weren’t you always calling yourself an heiress? Didn’t you think you were better than me?”
