Chapter 546 Arrival at the Tial Ground:
Chapter 546 Arrival at the Trial Grounds
Lucas got bounced off the seat so many times that his ass nearly went numb. Clutching the edge of the cargo bed expression slowly shifted from ready to die determination to dead inside
“Can’t they… fix this road or something?” Even his voice shook
Zane pedaled up front without looking back. “This road’s always been like this. You get used to the rough ride ever
Lucas froze.
Jasper sat beside him expressionlessly, but every time the tricycle hit a pothole, his eyebrow twitched slightly.
Noelle wasn’t doing much better either. After all the rattling and bouncing, it felt like her entire backside had gone numb
More and more people appeared along the road.
Some were walking. Some carried shoulder poles. Others drove donkey carts.
Every single one of them looked at the tricycle with open envy.
“Wow, whose ride is that? It’s beautiful!”
“Look at the flower. So festive!”
“They even put cushions in the back. Must be comfortable as hell!”
“That thing’s rare around here. In all these towns, only the Covingtons own one!”
Lucas’s mouth twitched hearing that.
He wanted to say something, but after seeing the sincere envy on their faces, he swallowed the words back down.
Forget it.
No point saying anything.
This place is just too underdeveloped.
An old man carrying baskets on a shoulder pole caught up and walked beside the tricycle while studying them curiously. “You folks must be relatives of the Covingtons, huh? Mr. Covington sure treats you well. He usually can’t even bear to ride this thing himself. heard from the servants that he’s only used it twice in the last three years since buying it. Once was for Elsa’s birthday, and the other was for their 30th wedding anniversary!
“Anyway, this thing’s a real treasure!”
Lucas finally couldn’t hold back anymore. “Sir… is this tricycle really that rare?”
The old man’s eyes widened. “Of course it is! Look around. Everything on these roads either runs on two legs or donkey power. Your ride doesn’t need hay, doesn’t need rest, and starts moving the second you pedal. How could that not be rare?”
Lucas opened his mouth, wanting to say people back home wouldn’t even use this thing for grocery shopping anymore, but looking at the old man’s sincere face, he chose silence instead.

The tricycle kept rolling forward. As they passed a village entrance, several children chased after them, shouting, “Flower cart! Flower cart!” with the kind of excitement usually reserved for holidays.
One kid even reached out to touch the canvas banner hanging off the cargo bed, only to get yanked back by an adult scolding him sharply. “Don’t touch it! What if you damage it? Could you afford to pay for that?”
Noelle lowered her gaze toward the children, the corners of her lips lifting slightly.
Lucas slumped against the cargo bed and stared at the sky before letting out a long sigh. “Noey, I swear I’ve survived every kind of hardship in this life. I’ve walked through gunfire and crawled through hell itself. But never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d one day ride a tricycle while people stared at me like some zoo animal.
“I feel like I got thrown back into the 1980s.”
Noelle deeply agreed. “Same.”
For once, Jasper didn’t argue with him. He simply nodded. “Agreed.”
Four hours later.
The tricycle finally stopped at the foot of a massive mountain.
The mountain towered so high that its peak disappeared into the clouds.
At the base was a huge open field covered with tents and tables, packed with people and buzzing with noise.
People were everywhere. Some wore rough cloth clothing, others wore silk. Some carried sabers while others held swords.
Some arrived on donkey carts. Some pushed wheelbarrows. One guy even showed up riding a cow. After hopping off, he slapped the cow’s rear, and the animal casually wandered away by itself.
Lucas climbed out of the cargo bed with numb legs and had to lean against the tricycle for a while before the feeling came back.
Jasper was much smoother about it. One long step, and he was already out, still expressionless as ever.
Noelle climbed down last, brushing dust from her clothes while scanning the area.
Zane parked the tricycle and pulled out a flatbread from beneath the seat before handing it to Noelle. “Ms. Kain, my mother packed this for you to eat on the road.”
Noelle accepted it, broke it into three pieces, and handed portions to Lucas and Jasper.
