Rebirth: She Cuts Ties and Takes Revenge (Noelle Kain) novel Chapter 565

"You want us to leave?" Noelle let out a laugh like she'd just heard the biggest joke in the world. "If you know I'm an outsider, then you know exactly why I came here. If I can't find my husband, I'd rather die than leave!"

"No. You're leaving."

The man's voice suddenly turned cold. He finally turned around, and there was an unquestionable resolve in those deep eyes.

Before he even finished speaking, he lunged at her and reached out to grab her.

Noelle's pupils contracted, her body reacting faster than her mind.

She twisted sideways to dodge him while her right hand shot out like lightning, catching his wrist with deadly precision. Her fingertips pressed hard against a pressure point before she sharply twisted downward.

Crack!

A soft pop of dislocated bone echoed through the air.

The man let out a muffled grunt, clearly not expecting her to fight back, much less expecting this seemingly delicate woman to know exactly what she was doing.

A flash of shock crossed his eyes from the sudden pain.

Noelle looked at the slight furrow between his brows from the pain, and her grip unconsciously loosened.

That look...

It's way too similar to the way Sebastian looked whenever he silently endured pain.

In that split second of hesitation, the man seized his chance.

He grabbed her wrist in reverse, and his other hand chopped down like lightning, striking the back of her neck hard with his palm.

"What..."

Noelle's vision instantly went black as the world spun around her.

In the final second before losing consciousness, only one ridiculous thought flashed through her mind.

I actually fell for a honey trap!

And he's not even hot!

...

Noelle woke up to a gentle rocking sensation.

The moment she opened her eyes, all she saw was the rough wooden ceiling of a small boat cabin. The salty smell of sea air filled the space, mixed with that faintly familiar woodsy scent.

She suddenly sat upright, only for a dull ache in the back of her neck to remind her of everything that had happened before she blacked out.

"You're awake?"

A low voice came from the cabin doorway.

Noelle looked over warily and saw the "ugly" man leaning against the doorframe with a rough ceramic bowl in his hand.

"Since you're awake, eat something." The man walked over and handed her the bowl, sounding as casual as if he were dealing with a disobedient child.

Noelle didn't take it. She only stared at him coldly. "Where is this?"

"The boat heading back out." The man kept his answer short. "I'm sending you all away."

He hurriedly set the bowl down and started fumbling around, apparently trying to find a cloth to wipe her face.

"Don't cry... I..." He stumbled over his words and awkwardly reached out, trying to pat her shoulder to comfort her.

The moment his hand was about to touch Noelle, a sharp glint suddenly flashed through Noelle's eyes, and all the weakness and heartbreak vanished from her face instantly.

She sprang up and used every last bit of strength left in her body to strike at the back of the man's neck with her palm.

The attack was fast, precise, and ruthless.

Hearing the movement, the man instinctively turned around and raised a hand to block.

Smack!

His hand caught her wrist with perfect accuracy.

But the next second, he froze.

Because he saw a deep gash across Noelle's palm, so deep that it nearly exposed bone. Blood poured endlessly from the wound, staining her entire hand red along with his own.

It had been sliced open by a sharp needle.

While pretending to cry and act weak earlier, she had secretly used the needle hidden in her sleeve to cut open her own palm.

She'd used the intense pain to stimulate her nerves and forcibly suppress the effects of the drug, all for the sake of delivering this fatal strike.

The man stared at her bloody hand, his pupils violently shrinking.

Fury and anger exploded inside him as his chest rose and fell sharply. He glared at her, his voice practically squeezed through clenched teeth.
