Yvette didn’t hesitate. “I’m Madeline’s sister! Use my liver! Ms. Kain, take mine and give it to her!”

“But a liver transplant is very dangerous. Anything can happen during surgery, including death.

“As long as I can get them on the operating table, I can get them off it alive and healthy,” Noelle said calmly. “But I need an assistant.”

“I’ll help!” Lucas said right away. He wasn’t as skilled as Noelle, but he could handle smaller tasks.

“You?” Noelle glanced at him dismissively. “You won’t do.”

“Won’t do? Then who else could help you?” Lucas protested. There weren’t many people better than him.

“Florasia’s top liver transplant expert–Isaac Doyle!”

Lucas immediately fell silent.

Isaac lifted his chin angrily and tried to storm off, but Noelle stepped in front of him.
