“Sebastian! Let me up! Let me up right now! If anything happens to me, my cousin will never let you go!”

In the past, Sebastian would have been wary when Tarquin said things like this, but this time, he did not even give a damn about it.

“Leave him hanging there,” Sebastian said calmly. “Let him down after sunrise tomorrow.”

Lucas called out, “Oh? That means he’ll be hanging there for more than ten hours. What if he can’t hold on and falls?”

“Then bury him,” Sebastian replied.

Lucas laughed even harder.

Tarquin stared at Sebastian in disbelief. He never thought Sebastian would actually dare to kill him.

He felt that Sebastian was being far too bold, acting as if he were not afraid of his cousin at all.

“You can only blame yourself for messing with the wrong person,” Lucas said coldly. “If you had only provoked Sebastian, he might have held back. But if you dare to touch Noelle, no one in this world can save you.”

Lucas felt extremely satisfied. In the past, Sebastian had always endured things for that person. Even when Tarquin and his kind bullied him, Sebastian stayed silent. Now, someone like Noelle had finally appeared, someone worth throwing everything away for.

It felt amazing.

Lucas swaggered away. When he saw Sebastian still standing outside, he raised his eyebrow. “You rush over the moment she’s hurt to back her up, but if you like her, you should make it clear. Sebastian, you always do things in secret. If you keep this up, she won’t even notice.”

“My body is crippled now,” Sebastian said softly, his long lashes lowering and casting shadows on his pale, sickly face. “What right do I have to say I like her? I don’t want to hold her back. Her life used to be hard. I just hope she can live freely and happily at Melrose Manor. When I have the ability, I’ll protect her peace and joy.”

Noelle still did not know that Tarquin would be hanging outside a 72–story window all night.

After collecting the herbs, she went to see Serena and told her that she was going back to Riverdale.

Serena was very reluctant to let her go and kept squeezing Noelle’s cheeks.

“Oh no, Noelle! You’re leaving again!” Serena cried. “You’re leaving me alone in Kingstowne to live a lonely and boring life!”

Noelle laughed. “It’s not like I’m never coming back. And even after I go to Riverdale, we can still video call.”

“I really don’t understand why you’re in such a hurry to go back,” Serena said with a resentful look. “Anyone who didn’t know better would think you hid a man in Riverdale and are rushing back to spoil him!”

Noelle rubbed her nose. Yeah, that’s kind of true. I really am going back to spoil a man!

“I’m going back to deal with the SAT,” Noelle said seriously.

Serena rolled her eyes. “Fine, as long as you’re happy. But you’re leaving so early. Mason is attending a medical conference out of town. When he heard you were here, he wanted to rush back to see you. Looks like he won’t get the chance this time.”

Noelle just smiled.

She chatted with Serena a bit more. They also talked about Noelle searching for her biological parents. Serena promised she would help Noelle find them as soon as possible.

Noelle carried the herbs back to the villa.

The next day, Noelle and Sebastian set off to leave Kingstowne.

When Yvette, Madeline, and Alina heard she was leaving, they all came to see her off.

Madeline even gave Noelle à gift she had made by hand.

Noelle was not wearing a veil today, but she had a face mask on. She was not trying to hide her face on purpose. She caught a slight cold yesterday, so she wore a mask.

“This gift isn’t worth much,” Yvette said with a smile. “Madeline made it herself. Just take it as a souvenir. Please don’t dislike it.”
