Chapter 192 Woken Up
“Why am I up this high? Who brought me here?!”
She looked around and saw Riven, Hudson, and Rokky!
Those foggy memories from her breakdown slowly returned.
“Oh my God! Did I really almost attack Evan because I was starving?!
“No… I already hurt Rokky!”
Annelise slapped herself in the face.
“Ouch. Yeah. I think I just figured out which one of the Four Calamities I am.”
Adrian was still running in circles, unsure if Annelise had fully come back to herself.
Meanwhile, Annelise’s stomach growled again.
“Somebody get me another roast chicken. I’m eating right now. I just hit a wall earlier, that’s all.”
She couldn’t help but wonder which one of the Four Calamities was known for loving food the most.
Voraciel, of course.
Hudson rushed over with everything he could carry-roast chicken, barbecue pork, grilled vegetables.
Annelise grabbed a handful of grilled veggies and stuffed them into her mouth.
She wasn’t picky at all.
She ate everything like it was gourmet, as long as it was edible.
That confirmed it even more. She was
-nine percent sure she was Voraciel.
That other one percent? Maybe a half-breed Voraciel.
Adrian asked, “Ms. Crawford, uh… should I stop?”
“No, no, keep walking. I’m not coming down until I’m full.
“And all of you better remember this from now on-I’m eating five meals a day!
“I am never letting myself starve again.
“I don’t care if I’m too busy working or stuck in a lab. You for feed me if you have to!”
Going without food… that’s how disaster happens, she thought,
Then Annelise finally voiced her theory about being Voraciel.
Everyone went silent.
Even Adrian stopped pacing and stood frozen, looking troubled.

He said they had finally pinpointed all the locations, and they needed to start dismantling the traps and clearing the unknowns immediately.
But when he stepped inside and saw the scene, no one responded.
He looked up at Annelise, who was still hoisted in the air by Adrian.
Everyone was standing in dead silence.
“What’s going on here? Some kind of divine offering ritual?”
Annelise held her forehead. Seriously? They looked more like an ancient sacrificial cult than a modern
team.
That’s when Hudson blurted it out.
“Ms. Crawford just said… she might be Voraciel from the Four Calamities.”
But he shook his head right after. He didn’t want to believe it.
They’d heard stories since they were kids.
Voraciel was just a floating head with no body.
It ate so much, so obsessively, that it devoured its own body out of hunger.
All that was left was a head, bobbing through the air.
Wherever it floated, it consumed everything in its path.
Including children.
“I used to sleep with the covers pulled over my head. I was terrified that one night it would drift into our house, see my head sticking out, and just bite it off.”
Annelise thought, That’s insane.
A legend is a legend. Sure, she got crazy hungry, but she never wanted to eat anyone.
Though… she did kind of lose it.
Evan and Hudson were both from that tribe, so of course they’d heard the same thing.
Then Riven spoke up. “My tribe’s version of Voraciel is a little different.”
He explained that in the brimel region, they had stories too.
If you ran into Karnyx, you could still fight back.
If it was Aetherion, you could dodge and escape. And if ornered, maybe even resist.
No one really knew what Aetherion’s traits were though since it was so rare.
Gravemorn? Still beatable in a fight.

But if you saw Voraciel, you ran. Fast. And straight up into the sky.

“Yeah, they say Voraciel gets so hungry it can leap off mountaintops or tree trunks and snatch birds out of the air.
“Its jump strength, its ferocity, its starvation instincts-they’re worse than the other three. Way worse.”
