“After we get it back, how do we hand it over to you?” Leonel asked.

“Please keep it for me for now,” Scott said with a defeated sigh. “The shelter is living under someone else’s roof now. I don’t have anywhere secure to store it.”

gone. We’re

“If you trust us that much, we’ll give it a try,” Leonel replied. “But only a try. We can’t promise it’ll be completely safe.”

“Of course. Your safety comes first,” Scott said. “My biggest concern is that it could fall into the hands of the central shelter. Given the way those people do things, they’ll end up causing a catastrophe.”

Leonel and Autumn both nodded in agreement.

Following the location Scott had marked, she swam over carefully.

The door stood exactly where it should, apparently untouched.

Autumn wasn’t sure it would still open, but she gave it a try anyway.

Well. No luck.

The pressure underwater was far too great to pull the door open.

That meant she’d have to use explosives.

Autumn planted several charges around the entrance, then quickly swam back to the surface and pressed the remote detonator.

Boom! Boom! Boom!
