Reborn Cave Queen of the End Times novel Chapter 16

Chapter 16 What Time Does It Start?

Seeing the look on Autumn’s face, Leonel nodded. “I don’t know what else you might be short on, but to show that I’m serious about working together, I prepared a little gift.”

As soon as he finished speaking, several people carried over stacks of survival supplies. There were compressed ration bars, glucose packets, crackers, canned ham, and bottled water.

All of them were important survival materials.

“Thanks.” Autumn didn’t refuse the gesture. “I hope we can get along and cooperate peacefully.”

Leonel nodded and left with his people.

The construction next door immediately accelerated. Workers rotated through shifts, pushing the project forward day and night without stopping.

David was squatting beside the newly built stove, cigarette dangling from his mouth as he tested a cooking pot. When he saw Autumn come in, he asked, “Can that guy be trusted?”

“For now, yes,” Autumn replied. “As long as both sides have enough supplies, we can work together.”

David thought about it for a moment and understood what she meant.

“The stove’s all set. Once everything dries completely, we can start using it,” he said. “Over the next few days, we should gather more firewood or charcoal. A proper stove isn’t much fun without fuel.”

“Sure,” Autumn answered casually.

After finishing the shelter inside the cave, she and David returned to downtown Karthmoor and checked into a hotel.

Then they split up. They began a citywide shopping spree, ordering food and buying like crazy.

Once the apocalypse arrived, none of those meals would be available anymore.

Since her storage space preserved everything perfectly, there was no reason not to stockpile as much as possible.

Delivery after delivery arrived at their hotel room. Whenever enough food accumulated, Autumn would send it all into her storage space.

They kept ordering nonstop until well past midnight before finally taking a break.

After daybreak, they split up again and spent the day crisscrossing the city, hunting down any great food spots they might have missed.

David had spent his entire career in the restaurant business, so he knew the local food scene inside and out. He knew exactly where to find the best food.

As a result, their efficiency was incredibly high.

After learning what they were doing, Leonel followed their example and sent people down the mountain to buy ready-made food as well.

He might not have had a storage space that preserved food, but he had a luxury cold storage facility That was more than enough to keep food fresh.

While shopping, Autumn carefully planned her routes, preparing for the day the apocalypse arrived so she could start looting.

No survivor in an apocalypse could resist the temptation of a zero-dollar shopping spree.

Two days later, Autumn and David returned to the cave shelter. The neighboring cave had already bee transformed beyond recognition. People bustled in and out like worker ants, somehow turning a rundown cave into a luxury mansion.

Then she looked at her own shabby little cave.

There was no comparison. None at all.

“Ms. Montclair, all the gold you requested is here. There’s quite a lot of it. How would you like us to deliver everything?” asked a bespectacled man with a friendly smile.

“That’s fine. Just bring it over gradually,” Autumn replied with a nod.

At first, she hadn’t expected there to be much gold.
