Chapter 69 The Duplication Windfall

“Understood.” James nodded.

Message delivered, Autumn didn’t linger. “You two carry on. I’m heading back to hunt for those baby supplies.”

“Autumn, thanks,” Leonel said. “If you can’t find them, no worries. We’ll go round up another batch. Soon or later, we’ll need the stuff anyway. The earlier we stock up, the safer we are. The longer this apocalypse drags on, the more impossible it’ll be to find.”

“Fair enough.”

Back in her cave, Autumn slipped into her space and started digging through her stockpile.

Her warehouse was enormous now.

There was no walking the whole thing on foot.

Good thing the space sorted itself automatically. Otherwise, she could search herself to death and still not turn up what she wanted.

Following the labels, she found the baby and maternity section. After poking around a bit, she saw it really was pretty complete.

Back then, the owner of that baby store had been desperate to offload it. Something must have happened, because the whole place went for 50,000 dollars.

In reality, the merchandise was worth who knew how many times that.

Autumn had basically walked off with a steal.

Thinking about how the future would need the population to grow, Autumn decided to run ten- thousandfold duplication on the whole batch of baby and maternity supplies.

“Supplies eligible for ten-thousandfold duplication detected. This will consume 4,692,000 grams of gold. Confirm or cancel.”

Autumn hit confirm.

/ Whoosh!

In a flash, the baby and maternity goods that had taken up only a tiny little corner multiplied ten thousand nnies over and became a mountain of supplies.

Autumn picked out what newborns and pregnant women would need, slipped out of the space, and brought it over to Leonel.

Sure enough both Leonel and Killian were overjoyed and kept thanking her.

James went to the shelter to buy baby and maternity supplies at steep prices, but unfortunately, even with

the prices jacked up, hardly anyone was willing to sell.

When people fled, they only carried their most essential belongings.

Families with kids barely had enough for themselves. Why would they sell any of it?

And when the hospitals evacuated, the priority had been equipment and pharmacy medicine. Nobody was going to waste effort hauling baby goods.

As for the baby-store owners, they had to travel light to survive. Of course, they took only what they personally needed, not shelves of bottles and jars they couldn’t move.

So Autumn’s batch of baby and maternity supplies really was a lifeline.

“Ms. Montclair. I’ll never forget this kindness as long as I live. If you ever need me, I won’t hesitate for a heartbeat.” Killian said, thumping his chest in a vow.

Autumn nodded. “I’ll hold you to it.”

Right as they were talking, an alarm suddenly blared.

Someone shouted from far off. “Temperature’s dropping! Light the fires, quick!”
