Charlotte waited quietly in the room.
Soon, Julia and Anna arrived and sat on the chairs opposite her.
"Mom, what's going on?" Julia asked in confusion.
It was already late, but Charlotte had still called them over. So, she was quite puzzled.
"I have something to tell the both of you. When I married into the Sterling family, my family gave me something as my wedding gift. It's the shares from the Peterson family, which are worth five billion dollars. I never told anyone about it except for your dad.
"However, Morgan also knows about this now. He even probed me for information. I'm pretty sure Francis told him about it, and now they're trying to get their hands on the shares."
Charlotte's expression looked grim as she watched Julia and Anna vigilantly. Now, the only people she could trust in the Sterling family were the two of them.
"What? Shares that are worth five billion dollars? That's a lot!"
Anna was shocked and couldn't help but cover her mouth.
"Oh my gosh, Mom! You really kept this hidden well."
Julia was very surprised and couldn't help but sigh.
They never thought that Charlotte would have such a huge fortune.
"If Francis and Morgan have their eyes on the shares, it's possible that they will take them."
Charlotte's expression looked grim as she stared at Julia and Anna with concern.
Julia and Anna exchanged glances and couldn't help but frown.
Charlotte's shares were considered a gold mine. They were too appealing.
Francis' recent contract issue had led to a loss of a billion dollars. He was looking for a way to make up for the loss, and Charlotte's shares were the best option.
It was impossible that Francis would abduct Charlotte. After all, she was his wife.
If they were exposed, they would be doomed.
Julia began to feel guilty, wondering why she had to think about such pointless stuff.
"I hope so." Charlotte winced and couldn't help but feel helpless.
She wasn't sure if Francis would abduct her for the sake of her shares. It was too terrifying, and Charlotte didn't want to think about it.
"Mom, rest well. I don't have anything to do now, so I'll keep you company. Don't go out for a while. We can just stay at home and watch movies. That's the safest," Anna smiled and hugged Charlotte as she comforted her.
"Okay. I'll listen to you," Charlotte said, smiling happily. She had been suppressing her nervousness earlier, but now she finally felt at ease.
Meanwhile, Morgan felt confused as he walked into the study.
