REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 103
Grandfather gave a low, rumbling chuckle from the head of the table, leaning back in his chair with an amused expression. "A fitting punishment. She thought she could control everything, and now she has nowhere to run." Grandfather said.
Dario reached across the table, his hand finding mine and giving my fingers a reassuring squeeze. "And your Carlton?" he asked, looking down the table toward Carlton's empty seat. "How is he holding up after all of this?"
"He's fine," I told him, looking over at Dario. "He's had enough of Caroline and Nysa's games, he's planning to cut them off and move forward with the divorce. He's finally seeing them for what they really are."
Elena nodded, looking pleased with how the night had played out despite the chaotic interruption. "Good. A man shouldn't have to live surrounded by leeches. Your father deserves some peace, especially after everything he's put up with over the years." she said.
Across the table, Uncle Pascal spoke up for the first time, his deep voice carrying easily. "Well, if Nysa tries any more foolish moves, she'll find out quickly that she's out of her depth. People like her don't know how to handle losing control." he said.
"That's exactly why I wanted her to feel it," I said. "For two lifetimes, she walked around acting like she owned the world, stepping on whoever she wanted without any consequences. I wanted her to realize that her little games don't work anymore."
Bianca grinned, picking up her fork again as the servers quietly stepped back into the room to clear away the plates. "Honestly, watching her face go pale when Uncle Pedro walked in was worth sitting through the whole meal. The color just drained out of her skin." Bianca said with a smile.
"She looked like she was staring a ghost right in the eyes," Ella added, laughing softly. "And then dropping the wine glass? Priceless."
We all shared a laugh, the heavy, suffocating atmosphere of the earlier confrontation washing away. The dinner, which had started out as a tense, high-stakes trap, had turned into a complete success. Nysa was cornered, her reputation was taking a massive hit online thanks to Leo's quick work, and Carlton was finally stepping up to dismantle her financial safety net.
The rest of the night passed easily. We stayed at the table for a while longer, talking about wedding details, travel plans for the upcoming honeymoon, and the final touches needed for the ceremony. By the time dinner wrapped up and everyone started drifting off to their rooms, I felt a deep, genuine sense of accomplishment settling into my chest.
For the first time since I woke up in this life, the constant weight pressing down on my shoulders felt a little bit lighter. Nysa was neutralized, Carlton was taking care of business on his end, and Dario was right beside me, holding to his promise to take things at my pace.
When I finally headed up to my room later that night, I walked over to the window and looked out over the quiet grounds of the estate. The cool night breeze blew in softly, carrying the scent of pine and cut grass. Tomorrow was a new day, and my revenge were falling neatly into place. I kicked off my shoes, climbed into bed, and let myself drift off to sleep without a single worry on my mind.
I woke up the next moring with a plan already in mind. I didn’t need to destroy Nysa in one blow, that would be too fast, no. I was going to do it slowly and I only needed to make Caroline stop believing in her.
Caroline was the last soft place left, she was Nysa’s lifeline and once that softness that Caroline had for her turned hard, Nysa would have nowhere to land.
So I was going to start small, I had an entire week. By the time saturday rolled around for the wedding they would be on the edge.. The video was already out and everyone who mattered had seen it, or at least heard the details. But Caroline would still be treating it like something that had been done to her daughter. The protective instinct of a mother who refuses to believe her child could have been that reckless, that shameless, that willing.
So I was going to give her a reason to stop refusing. I sat up and called Leo. “Morning Boss , you're early.” he said .
“Leo do me a favour, The videos I sent you, I want you to make it so clear that it can’t be dismissed that it is Nysa. “ I said
