Chapter 322 Tilly Comes Home
Augusta was watching the livestream, feeling terrible for Nora.
Finished
Suddenly, Laurel’s photo appeared on the screen. Augusta’s eyes lit up, and she slapped her thighs. “It’s my sweet girl! It’s my sweet girl!”
She quickly called Zane. “Zane, hurry! We found your mother! Hurry up, Zane!”
The press conference was wrapping up, and people were about to leave, when Zane rushed in, helping Augusta along. Augusta grabbed Nora’s hand. “Tilly, I told you! You’re my Tilly, my sweet granddaughter!”
Nora was completely lost.
Zane gave her a strange look. “Hi, Nora. I’m your brother.”
“Huh?” Nora looked from one of them to the other, baffled. “I know your grandma has dementia, but you too, Zane?”
Zane forced a smile. “This is my grandma, and she’s your grandma too. I don’t have dementia! You’re our sister!” He pointed at the photo Rosalind was holding. “That’s my mom.”
He was worried Nora wouldn’t believe him, so he pulled out a photo of his own to show her. “This is our
mom.”
Nora looked at Zane’s photo, then at Rosalind’s.
The two photos looked pretty different. In Zane’s photo, half of his mother’s face was covered in red blotches.
She’d let her hair fall over that side to hide them. But her clear, bright eyes and the other half of her face looked just like Laurel’s.
Rosalind’s hands were shaking. “It’s Laurel. It really is Laurel. I gave her medicine that caused those blotches. I did it to protect her.”
Back in those days, a woman on her own with a young girl was in real danger. More than once, they’d been targeted, and Laurel had nearly been kidnapped and sold.
To keep her safe, Rosalind had given her medicine that made the blotches break out across her face, and after that, Laurel had been much safer. But the two of them had still ended up separated.
Zane turned to Rosalind and dutifully said, “Hello, Grandma.”
Rosalind didn’t know him at all, and all she could think about was how much her daughter must have suffered. She refused to acknowledge him. “I don’t know you. Don’t call me that.”
“Let’s do a DNA test,” Nora said. Maybe she and Augusta really had been meant to find each other.
The DNA results came back quickly. Nora and Augusta were grandmother and granddaughter, and Nora and Zane were siblings.

Chapter 322 Tilly Comes Home
As for Nora’s father, Zane said he’d passed away three years after Laurel left.
Finished
Losing her daughter-in-law and then her son had been too much for Augusta. Her memory had gone downhill, and she’d developed dementia.
Whatever love and heartbreak their parents had been through, the kids would fever fully know.
But Augusta knew a little. “When you get right down to it, this is all my fault. My sweet girl saved my life, and she was all alone in the world. Your father was single back then, so I thought I’d play matchmaker.
“I pushed your father into marrying her. I told him all I wanted was a grandbaby. But you can’t force love.
“Your father was a good man in every other way, but he was clueless when it came to feelings. The two of them went through a lot of ups and downs.
“It wasn’t until your mother left and we thought she was dead that your father realized he loved her. He couldn’t find her, and he fell into a deep depression. Not long after, he was gone too.
“I never dreamed she’d faked her death, and that she was carrying you when she did.”
They’d only found out Laurel was pregnant when they saw her checkup results, and she’d been pretty far along. They’d even asked the doctor and learned it was a girl.
Zane said, “Honestly, we never really believed our sister survived. But Grandma’s illness had her confused, and she kept saying she wanted to find her granddaughter. We played along all these years, and eventually we started believing it too.”
He stared at Nora, beaming. “I can’t believe I really have a sister,
Nora scoffed. “Don’t. I don’t have a brother like you. Go find Olivia. She’s the one who saved your life, isn’t she?”
Zane panicked. “I did look into it! I didn’t just take Olivia’s word for it. Come on, Nora, don’t freeze me
out.”
The Whitlocks had four sons, and the only thing missing was a daughter. Now that she was back, she was going to be spoiled rotten. If Zane ever dared upset her, his three older brothers would kill him.
For Augusta’s sake, Nora agreed to be welcomed back into the Whitlock family as its eldest daughter.
Once the Whitlocks found out how badly Cordelia had treated Nora, they launched a deep investigation into the Blithe family.
In the end, they uncovered a long list of Cordelia’s crimes, including her involvement in the annex’s organ trafficking. She was sentenced to death.
Olivia was arrested too, on charges of covering for Cordelia and letting other people take the fall for her.
Constance had just gotten off the phone, and she turned to Nora, worried. “Olivia ran. They didn’t catch
her.”
Nora stayed calm. “Don’t worry. With the internet these days, she won’t get far.”
