Natalia
The recording finished, leaving the small room in complete silence. Lilith’s admission was clear: she had been the one who drugged me during the banquet. She had planned to film me with that disgusting Alpha.
She wanted to destroy my reputation and humiliate me.
I looked directly at Andrei, whose face was still pale from what he’d just heard. “And that’s not even the worst of what she’s done,” I snarled. “Max just told me that Lilith is the one who pushed Jane into the lake that night at the solstice ball. She tried to kill our children, Andrei. She lured them away with chocolate and then tried to drown them.”
Andrei’s green eyes widened, but he still didn’t speak. Just stared at Lilith like he was seeing her for the first time.
“So here’s what’s going to happen,” I continued. My voice had gone cold and hard, and it was all I could do not to kill Lilith with my bare hands right then and there. My wolf was raging, furious that someone had tried to harm our pups.
“If you want to be part of Max and Jane’s lives, Lilith can’t be around them,” I said, narrowing my eyes. “Ever. I don’t care what relationship you think you have with her, I don’t care that she was carrying your baby. She has tried to kill my children, and I won’t let her have another chance.”
“Natalia-”
“And if you can’t agree to that,” I went on, ignoring Andrei, “then we’ll be pulling out of the pack alliance completely. Ashmoor has other options now. We don’t need Moonshadow’s protection anymore.”
The threat left the air in the room stagnant.
I could see people gathering outside the door now, staff members and venue workers who had come to eavesdrop. They had heard everything.
So the secret was out. Everyone would know by tomorrow that Max and Jane were Andrei’s children, not Damon’s. The carefully constructed lie that had protected us for five years was crumbling, and there would be all kinds of speculation.
But strangely, I found that I didn’t care anymore. I no longer cared about the gossip and rumors and tabloids.
All that mattered was keeping my children safe.
“Oh, and another thing,” I said, turning my attention to Lilith, “I don’t believe for one second that my children poisoned your food.”
Lilith’s eyes flashed with anger, but she lifted her chin defiantly. “Then let’s look at that security footage, shall we? You’ll see that your precious little angels were the ones who caused this. They put something in the staff lunch, and I know it was them because their rancid scents were all over the room when I walked in.”
“Very well.” I leaned back in my chair and waved my hand at the security guard who was still holding the laptop. “Let’s see it.”

The guard nodded and set up the laptop, “What time frame are we looking at?”
“This afternoon,” Lilith said immediately. “Around three o’clock, in the staff lounge.”

The guard found the footage and turned the laptop around so we could all see it. The screen showed a small break room with tables, chairs, and a food station set up along one wall. It was where the staff luncheon was set up for the fashion show, and each person had their own styrofoam box with their name printed on it.
And there, clear as day, were Max and Jane.
