Rejected by Her Mate Claimed by Four Alphas novel Chapter 145

CHAPTER 129

Alpha Darius’s POV

I knew my decision had shocked my warriors and the entire pack. I could see it in their faces, hear it in their whispered conversations. But that had always been my goal from the first moment I’d set eyes on Clara, bleeding and broken in my territory.

Even before I’d known she was my mate, something about her had called to me. The way she’d fought to survive when most would have given up. The fire in her eyes despite her injuries. The strength that radiated from her even in her weakest moment.

I’d been patient, waiting for the old bond she’d shared with that p***y Jaden to completely vanish. Waiting for her wolf to heal enough to recognize what was right in front of her. Now that the remnants of her previous connection were gone, she could finally feel our bond properly.

The pack would adjust. They always did. I was their alpha, and my word was law.

But first, I needed to handle the more immediate concerns.

I made my way across the packhouse grounds toward the new training facility I’d had constructed over the past few months. As I walked, I spotted Clara in the distance, heading out for what looked like her morning run. Her movements looked fluid and strong, showing no signs of the exhaustion from last night.

Good. She was recovering well.

I considered calling out to her, telling her about the announcement myself before she heard it from someone else. But she looked peaceful, focused on her run, and I decided to let her have this moment of

normalcy.

I would inform her later, after I’d handled the training issues I could already sense brewing among my

warriors.

The training facility was a massive complex with multiple sparring rings, weapon storage, and observation areas designed to push our warriors to their limits. The morning training session was already in progress when I arrived. The sound of combat filled the air, bodies hitting mats, the clash of practice weapons, the grunts and shouts of warriors pushing themselves.

I positioned myself on the observation deck that overlooked the main training floor, a perfect vantage point to assess performance without being noticed immediately.

Below me, various groups were engaged in different exercises. Hand to hand combat, weapons training, endurance drills. Everything looked normal at first glance, but as I watched more carefully, I began to notice problems.

My elite warriors, the six men and one woman who formed the core of our fighting force, were sparring in the center ring. These were wolves who had trained together for years, who knew each other’s moves as well as their own, who could coordinate attacks with deadly precision.

CHAPTER 129.

Today, they looked like amateurs.

+25 Ports

Jarek threw a punch that telegraphed itself from a mile away. Kai’s footwork was clumsy, offbalance. Luka’s defensive posture was sloppy, leaving gaps that any competent opponent would exploit immediately.

I watched for several more minutes, my jaw tightening with each mistake I witnessed. These men were better than this. Much better. I’d trained them myself, had seen them take down rogues twice their size, had watched them coordinate pack defenses that saved lives.

This morning, they looked distracted. Unfocused. Their minds clearly elsewhere.

And I had a very good idea what was occupying their thoughts.

I made my way down from the observation deck, my footsteps echoing on the metal stairs. Conversations stopped as warriors noticed my approach. Training slowed as attention shifted to me.

I walked directly to the center ring where my elite team was still sparring, though they’d paused when they spotted me coming.

Pathetic,I said, my voice carrying across the sudden silence. Absolutely pathetic.

The six men straightened immediately, falling into formation without conscious thought. Years of training and discipline kicked in despite their obvious distraction.

Marcus,I said, stepping into the ring. Show me that punch again.”

He hesitated. Alpha?”

The one you threw at Tyler thirty seconds ago. Show me.

Marcus glanced at his teammates, then threw the same wide, telegraphed punch I’d observed from above. I caught his wrist effortlessly, twisted, and had him on the ground in less than two seconds.

Tyler. Your turn.

Tyler fared no better. His sloppy footwork made it simple to sweep his legs and drop him beside Marcus.

I worked through all six of them methodically, using minimal effort to demonstrate exactly how poor their performance was today. Within minutes, all six elite warriors were sprawled on the training mat, looking up at me with expressions of shame and confusion.

Get up,” I commanded.

They scrambled to their feet, standing at attention like raw recruits instead of seasoned fighters.

Now,” I said, circling them slowly. Tell me what’s wrong with this picture.”

Silence.

I said tell me.”

Our focus was off, Alpha,” Connor admitted quietly.

+25 Points?

Off?I stopped in front of him. Off doesn’t begin to describe what I just witnessed. I’ve seen new recruits with better form than what you just showed me.

More silence. They all stared straight ahead, refusing to meet my eyes.

You want to know what I think?I continued. I think my announcement this morning has your panties in a

twist.”
