“Clara knows about Elena,” added.

Both lines went quiet.

“How?” Killian asked finally.

“She did her research,” I said simply. “Dug through old records, put pieces together. She knows what Jaden really is.”

“Good,” Lucien said with dark‘ satisfaction. “Then she understands exactly what kind of monster we’re dealing with.”

“She does,” I agreed. “And she’s ready to be the one who puts him down.”

We spent the next twenty minutes working out basic logistics. Killian would bring his pack’s tactical specialists and siege equipment. Lucien had contacts among the eastern territories who owed him favors. I’d handle coordination and make sure we had enough forces to overwhelm whatever alliances Jaden tried to scrape together.

When the call finally ended, I sat back in my chair and stared at the ceiling. Three powerful Alphas, all

I nodded, even though he couldn’t see me. Smart priorities. Show concern for her wellbeing first, then demonstrate the resources you could provide.

“Smart thinking,” I said simply.

“I try,” Killian said with a chuckle. “Clara doesn’t seem like the type to be easily impressed by empty gestures.”

“No,” I agreed. “She isn’t.”

After he hung up, I stood in my armory surrounded by weapons that had been passed down through generations of Hargrove Alphas. My grandfather’s sword, my father’s favorite pistol, and the silver daggers that had ended more than one challenge to our pack’s authority.

down Jaden.

Getting into my office, I set down the weapons and started trying to organize them for easier carriage.

Barely a minute after I stepped inside, there was a knock on my office door.

“Come in,” I called.

Kane, my beta, entered with a stack of reports. “Alpha, we’ve got responses from the packs you contacted

yesterday.”

I looked up from the weapons I’d been organizing. “Good news or bad news?”

“Mostly good,” Kane said, setting the papers on my desk. “Alpha Marcus from the Northwind pack is in. So

is Alpha Thompson from Ironwood. They both have personal grudges against Jaden.”

“What about the others?”

“Alpha Rivera wants to meet in person before committing. Alpha Cross is asking for more details about

the timeline.” Kane paused. “And Alpha Bennett declined. Says he doesn’t want to get involved in pack

politics.”

I snorted. Bennett had always been a coward. “Fine. We don’t need him anyway.”

Kane studied my face. “Alpha, if I may ask… what’s really driving this? I know Jaden killed Elena, but you’ve

been planning his death for years. Why act now?”

I was quiet for a moment, thinking about how much to tell him. Kane had been my beta for five years, my

“What about Mira?” Kane asked carefully. “How does she feel about you getting involved with Clara

Ashburn?”
