CHAPTER 168-1

Ronan’s POV

Clara knows about Elena,added.

Both lines went quiet.

How?Killian asked finally.

She did her research,I said simply. “Dug through old records, put pieces together. She knows what Jaden really is.

Good,Lucien said with darksatisfaction. Then she understands exactly what kind of monster we’re dealing with.

She does,I agreed. And she’s ready to be the one who puts him down.

We spent the next twenty minutes working out basic logistics. Killian would bring his pack’s tactical specialists and siege equipment. Lucien had contacts among the eastern territories who owed him favors. I’d handle coordination and make sure we had enough forces to overwhelm whatever alliances Jaden tried to scrape together.

When the call finally ended, I sat back in my chair and stared at the ceiling. Three powerful Alphas, all

united by one goal. It should have felt satisfying. It should have felt like victory was already within reach.

Instead, all I could think about was Clara’s voice on the phone. The way she’d laid out her terms like she

was negotiating from a position of strength, not asking for help. The calm confidence in every word she

spoke.

She was planning to use us. All of us. And somehow, that just made me respect her more.

I stood up and walked to the safe behind my desk. Inside were documents I’d been collecting for years.

Evidence of Jaden’s illegal territory grabs, his violations of pack law, his pattern of cruelty and abuse. I’d

been waiting for the right moment to use them.

That moment had finally come.

ľ

But as I pulled out the files, I realized something that made me pause. Clara might want partners, but she was also smart enough to know that every alliance came with a price. Every favor had to be repaid.

I’d be getting my revenge on Jaden, yes. But if I wasn’t getting a good end of this deal, if Clara thought she could just use my resources and walk away

I smiled grimly and reached for my phone again. Time to start making extra arrangements. Clara wanted to see what kind of partner I could be? I’d show her exactly what my pack brought to the table.

The next morning, I was in my armory selecting weapons when my phone rang Killian’s name flashed on

the screen.

+25 Points:

Ronan,he said directly. I’m heading to Darius’s territory today. Bringing supplies and resources for Clara.

That was fast,I said, checking the edge on a silver blade.

I don’t waste time when there’s business to handle,Killian replied. Besides, I want to get there before Lucien shows up with his dramatic declarations.

I laughed despite myself. Fair point. What kind of supplies are you bringing?

Medical supplies first,Killian said. Being kidnapped and chained up takes a toll, even on someone as strong as Clara. Then weapons, ammunition, tactical gear. Everything she’ll need for a proper war.

I nodded, even though he couldn’t see me. Smart priorities. Show concern for her wellbeing first, then demonstrate the resources you could provide.

Smart thinking,I said simply.

I try,Killian said with a chuckle. Clara doesn’t seem like the type to be easily impressed by empty gestures.”

No,I agreed. She isn’t.

After he hung up, I stood in my armory surrounded by weapons that had been passed down through generations of Hargrove Alphas. My grandfather’s sword, my father’s favorite pistol, and the silver daggers that had ended more than one challenge to our pack’s authority.

We, the Hargroves, believed in using weapons for extra protection. Why stress your wolf when there are

weapons to help you take down your opponent.

The only thing I had hated for years was that none of these weapons had ever been used to kill the bastard who murdered my sister.

I selected a blade that Elena had admired when she was little. She’d been fascinated by the intricate

engravings on the handle, the way the silver caught the light. I’d promised her that someday, when she was

older, I’d teach her how to use it properly and avoid getting burned by the silver.

But that day never came.

(

I slid the blade into a leather sheath and attached it to my belt. When we finally faced Jaden, this would be

the weapon that ended him.

CHAPTER 168-2

Right after, I headed to my office with the weapons I’d chosen to take with me to Dariuspack to take

down Jaden.

Getting into my office, I set down the weapons and started trying to organize them for easier carriage.

Barely a minute after I stepped inside, there was a knock on my office door.

Come in,I called.

Kane, my beta, entered with a stack of reports. Alpha, we’ve got responses from the packs you contacted

yesterday.

I looked up from the weapons I’d been organizing. Good news or bad news?

Mostly good,” Kane said, setting the papers on my desk. Alpha Marcus from the Northwind pack is in. So

is Alpha Thompson from Ironwood. They both have personal grudges against Jaden.

What about the others?

Alpha Rivera wants to meet in person before committing. Alpha Cross is asking for more details about

the timeline.Kane paused. And Alpha Bennett declined. Says he doesn’t want to get involved in pack

politics.

I snorted. Bennett had always been a coward. Fine. We don’t need him anyway.

Kane studied my face. Alpha, if I may askwhat’s really driving this? I know Jaden killed Elena, but you’ve

been planning his death for years. Why act now?

I was quiet for a moment, thinking about how much to tell him. Kane had been my beta for five years, my

most trusted advisor. But some things were better kept close to the chest.

Because now I have the right weapon,I said finally. Clara Ashburn isn’t just another rogue looking for

revenge. She’s something else entirely.

The woman who burned down half of Jaden’s territory?Kane asked.

(

The same,I confirmed. And she’s building a coalition. Multiple packs working together to take Jaden

down.

Kane nodded slowly. And you want to be part of that coalition.

I want to lead part of that coalition,I corrected. Clara might think she’s orchestrating this war, but she’s going to learn that the Hargrove pack doesn’t follow orders. We lead from the front

What about Mira?Kane asked carefully. How does she feel about you getting involved with Clara

Ashburn?

I thought about my chosen mate, currently visiting her family’s pack for the week Mira and I had been together for three years, a political alliance that had strengthened both our packs. She was intelligent,

capable, and understood the game we were all playing.

She also understood that sometimes duty came before personal feelings.

Mira knows where my priorities lie,I said simply. Jaden has to die. Everything else comes after.

+25 Points)

Kane nodded. He’d been there when we’d gotten the news about Elena. He’d seen what her death had

done to me, to our entire pack.

What do you need me to do?he asked.

Start getting our forces ready,I said. I want our best warriors prepared to move within fortyeight hours.

And send word to our allies. It’s time to call in some favors.

Yes, Alpha.

After Kane left, I walked to the vault at the back of my office and spun the combination lock. Inside were
