Rejected by Her Mate Claimed by Four Alphas novel Chapter 245

CHAPTER 225

Clara’s POV

The woman who walked through those doors wasn’t what I expected.

Mira was beautiful in a quiet, elegant way. Her hair fell past her shoulders in soft waves. Her posture was perfect, her movements graceful. She wore a simple but expensive dress that marked

her as Luna of a prosperous pack.

But it was her reputation that preceded her more than her appearance. I’d heard stories about Mira from other Alphas. She was known throughout the werewolf community as one of the calmest Lunas anyone had ever met. The kind of woman who could handle pack disputes with a gentle word, who never raised her voice, who brought peace wherever she went.

The woman standing before me now looked nothing like those stories.

Her eyes were red-rimmed, puffy from crying. Her hands shook at her sides. Her face was twisted with an emotion I recognized all too well because I’d felt it myself once.

Betrayal.

The realization hit me like ice water.

Looking at Mira’s devastated face, I understood something cruel and terrible. I’d unknowingly made Ronan do to her exactly what Jaden had done to me. The betrayal, the lies, the public humiliation. The only difference was that Jaden had tried to kill me afterward. But the pain of betrayal? That was exactly the same.

I’d become the other woman. The homewrecker. The one who destroyed someone else’s relationship, even if I’d never meant to.

Behind Mira stood two large men who shared her dark coloring. Her brothers, clearly. They looked ready for a fight. Her father stood between them, older but no less imposing. The rest of her group fanned out behind them, warriors who looked uncomfortable with whatever was about to happen.

The hall had gone completely silent. Every pack member held their breath, waiting.

I remained seated in the Alpha’s chair. It wasn’t cruelty that kept me there. It was necessity. If I stood, if I showed any sign of backing down, Mira’s family would see it as weakness. As admission of guilt.

“Mira,” I said, my voice carrying through the hall. “You’ve requested an audience with me. State your purpose.”

Her jaw clenched. “You know exactly why I’m here.”

“I do. But for the sake of everyone present, I’d like you to state it formally”

It was a power move and we both knew it. Forcing her to voice her accusations in front of witnesses, to make this official rather than personal.

One of her brothers stepped forward, but her father put a hand on his arm. Stopping him.

Mira took a shaky breath. When she spoke again, her voice was quieter but no less intense. I’m here because my mate has been unfaithful. And you’re the reason why.”

Murmurs rippled through the crowd. Some shocked, some knowing. The division in my pack was already showing.

“That’s a serious accusation,” I said carefully.

“It’s the truth.” Her voice cracked slightly. “Ronan is my mate. We’ve been together for years. Years of building a life together, of me supporting his pack, of me being the Luna his people needed.”

“Mira,” her father said softly. A warning or comfort, I couldn’t tell.

But she ignored him. “I knew something was wrong. For weeks now, he’s been different. Distant. Making excuses about why he couldn’t visit. Always busy with pack business.”

. Let her speak. Anything I said right now would only make things worse.

hands balled into fists. “I didn’t want to believe it. I fought with them about it. Told them they ere being paranoid, that Ronan loved me, that we had something real.”

A tear slid down her cheek. “But they insisted. So I made a bet with them. I said if they were wrong, they’d apologize to Ronan personally. If they were right…” She laughed bitterly. “If they were right, I’d finally accept the truth I’d been denying.”

“And what truth is that?” I asked, though I already knew.

“That he never loved me.” Her voice broke completely. “That I wasted years of my life on a man who was just going through the motions. Playing pretend Luna and Alpha while his heart was

somewhere else.”

The pain in her words was raw, real. I felt it in my own chest because I understood. Jaden had done the same to me. Made me believe in something that was never real.

“The people I sent to follow him reported back two days ago,” Mira continued, her voice getting

stronger. Angrier. “They saw him here. At your pack. Saw him with you.”

She took a step forward. “They said he looked at you the way he’s never looked at me. Like you were the only person in the world that mattered.”

Another step. “They said he touched you. Spoke to you. Stood close enough that everyone could see the connection between you.”

Her brothers moved with her, flanking her sides. Protective.

“So I came here myself. To see the woman who destroyed my life.”

“I didn’t-“I started.

“Don’t.” Her voice cut like a blade. “Don’t you dare say you didn’t do anything. You knew he had a mate. You knew, and you didn’t care.”

“That’s not-”

“Then what is it?” Mira’s voice rose, losing the control she’d maintained. “Explain to me how you, an
