Alpha Darius‘ POV
“A few,” Clara said slowly. “But they’d need convincing that we could actually succeed.”
“Leave that to me,” Ronan said confidently. “I can be very convincing when I need to be.”
I watched the exchange between them, noting how Ronan leaned forward whenever Clara spoke,/ how his eyes tracked her every movement. The Alpha was clearly fascinated by her, and not just for her fighting skills.
The possessive part of me wanted to end this conversation immediately. Clara was mine. She belonged to my pack, fought under my banner, lived under my protection. But the strategic part of my mind recognized the opportunity Ronan represented.
His pack was strong, his resources extensive, his hatred for Jaden genuine. With his support, Clara’s chances of destroying Jaden increased dramatically.
“What kind of resources can you provide?” Clara asked Ronan.
“Information networks, financial backing, political connections,” Ronan replied without hesitation. “Enough to create significant problems for him.”
“Political connections?” Clara continued.
“Pack council members who owe me favors. Allies who would love to see Jaden’s influence diminish,” Ronan answered.
“What about his business dealings?” Clara pressed.
“I have contacts in his trade networks. People who could… redirect certain information or reveal questionable transactions,” Ronan explained with a slight smile.
Clara nodded, though her expression remained thoughtful. “That could be useful for what I have in mind.”
“What exactly do you have in mind?” Ronan asked.
Clara’s smile was enigmatic. “Let’s just say I want Jaden and Liana to understand the gravity of what they did to me. The methods… well, that’s for me to know.”
I couldn’t help but notice how she avoided giving specifics. Clara was keeping her actual plans close to her chest, only sharing what was necessary for the alliance.
She may look innocent and harmless but… from what I’ve seen, that mind of hers is far from that.

“What about timing? When do we start?” Ronan pressed.
“That depends on several factors,” Clara said. “My mission with the rogue wolf comes first. After that’s completed, we can begin… applying pressure where it’s needed most.”
“How long do you estimate?” Ronan asked.
“Three weeks, maybe four. Enough time to position everything properly,” Clara replied.
I finally spoke up. “Clara will need to maintain her cover until she’s ready. If Jaden suspects she’s alive and planning anything, he’ll become paranoid.”
“Agreed,” Ronan said. “Which is why this partnership works. My pack having business disputes with Shadowcrest Pack won’t surprise anyone.”
“But my involvement will be… unexpected,” Clara added with a cold smile.
“Exactly. Jaden will be focused on managing the obvious threats while you work on the real plan,” Ronan confirmed.
Clara’s eyes gleamed. “He won’t see it coming until it’s far too late.”
“What about after?” I asked. “Once Jaden faces consequences, what happens to the Shadowcrest Pack?”
Ronan and Clara both looked at me.
“Someone will need to step into the power vacuum,” Ronan said. “Preferably someone who understands cooperation and who’s pack is just a couple of miles away.”
“I don’t care about ruling his pack,” Clara said flatly. “I want Jaden and Liana to pay for what they did. Once that’s handled, the rest can sort itself out.”
“Liana?” Ronan asked.
“My sister. The current Luna of Shadowcrest,” Clara explained, her voice carrying pure venom. “She betrayed me just as much as he did.”
“Oh! The backstabbing bitch. What do you have planned for her?” Ronan inquired.
Clara was quiet for a moment, her expression unreadable. “She needs to learn what betrayal from your close one feels like. But the details… those are mine to handle.”
The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees. I’d seen Clara angry before, but this was next level.
It got me wondering what kind of things she was capable of. She had specific plans for everything even before we mentioned them, but she wasn’t willing to share them with us.

“We’ll need to coordinate our efforts,” I said. “If you’re moving against both Jaden and Liana, we
should ensure our activities support rather than interfere with yours. You can tell us what you have planned..”
“Good point,” Ronan agreed. “What kind of support would be most helpful and what’s your plan.?”
“Information,” Clara said simply. “I need to know their schedules, their routines, their vulnerabilities. I feel with my absence things must have changed so that’s necessary. But how I use that information is my decision unless you’re willing to share yours.”
She turned towards me giving me a knowing glance and I couldn’t help but feel like I knew what she was saying. But not wanting to insinuate, I shook that feeling off, focusing on the conversation.
“Do we know their current weaknesses?” Ronan asked.
“Jaden cares about his reputation above all else,” Clara said. “His image as the perfect Alpha. Liana
is obsessed with her status as Luna and the respect that comes with it.”
“Then we can work on undermining those foundations while you… handle the specifics,” Ronan calculated.
“What about their relationship?” I asked. “Any cracks we can exploit?”
“Their bond isn’t as strong as they pretend,” Clara replied. “But I have particular plans for addressing that weakness.”
“My contacts could create business problems,” Ronan offered. “Make his pack question his leadership.”
“I could provide intelligence about territorial vulnerabilities,” I added. “Show weakness in his defenses.”
Clara looked between us. “Those distractions would be… helpful. They’ll keep Jaden and Liana focused on the wrong threats.”
“What about pack loyalty?” I asked. “Wolves who might defend them?”
Clara considered this carefully. “Most of his supporters follow out of fear or convenience. They care more about what they stand to gain and not genuine loyalty. When the right pressure is applied in the right places, they’ll distance themselves quickly enough.”
