CHAPTER 74–T
Alpha Darius’s POV
I finished up the meeting with the elders quickly after Xander’s mindlink. Alpha Killian had arrived, and it was time to get the treaty renewal underway.
I made my way downstairs toward the main entrance, expecting to find Killian waiting in the conference room as planned. But when I got there, the room was empty,
An omega was cleaning the hallway nearby, and I stopped him. “Did you see where Alpha Killian went?”
“Yes, Alpha,” he replied, bowing his head respectfully. “Beta Xander was escorting him to the conference room, but Alpha Killian asked to see the training grounds first. They went that way.” He pointed toward the outdoor training areas.
“Are you certain that’s the direction they went?”
“Yes, Alpha. I saw them heading toward the main training ring just a few minutes ago.”
I nodded and dismissed him with a wave. It made sense that Killian would want to observe our training
methods. He was known for running a disciplined pack himself, and most Alphas were curious about how
other packs trained their warriors.
I walked toward the training grounds, following the sounds of combat and instruction. It was mid–afternoon, so most of our warriors would be engaged in their daily practice sessions.
As I approached the main training ring, I could hear the usual sounds of sparring. Warriors calling out instructions, the impact of bodies hitting the ground, the clash of weapons during sword practice.
But when I reached the edge of the training area, what I saw made my blood run cold.
In the middle of the main ring, Killian and Clara stood facing each other. His hand was wrapped around her wrist, and they were staring into each other’s eyes like they were the only two people in the world.
They looked completely lost in their own private moment, oblivious to everything happening around them. The training session had essentially stopped, with other warriors watching the strange interaction between their pack member and the visiting Alpha.
My wolf immediately went insane.
“MINE!” he snarled with such fury that I had to clench my fists to keep control. “RIP HIM AWAY FROM HER! KILL HIM!”
The possessive rage that hit me was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Every instinct I had was screaming at me to charge into that ring and tear Killian away from Clara with my bare hands.
But I couldn’t do that. Killian was here for a treaty renewal, and attacking him would destroy important diplomatic relations. I had to maintain control, no matter how much my wolf was demanding blood.
<CHAPTER 24
Without sparing any moment to think about the consequences, I started walking toward the ring. My mind
was completely focused on getting Killian away from my woman, but I couldn’t let anyone see what was really driving me.
I had to make this look casual, like I was simply greeting a visiting Alpha who had wandered into our training area.
But as I got closer, something unexpected happened.
Clara suddenly jerked her arm free from Killian’s grip and drove her knee straight up into his groin with devastating precision.
Killian doubled over immediately, his hands moving to protect himself as pain shot through his body. He staggered backward, his face turning an interesting shade of green.
I felt a surge of pride so strong it nearly made me smile.
“Atta girl,” I thought with satisfaction. That was exactly the kind of response i expected from Clara when
someone grabbed her without permission.
I continued walking toward them, using Killian’s moment of incapacitation to close the distance. By the time I reached the edge of the ring, Killian was starting to straighten up, though he was still clearly in pain.
“Alpha Killian,” I called out, making my voice carry the appropriate tone of polite concern while feeling absolutely no concern whatsoever. “Are you alright?”
Killian looked up at me, his face still tight with pain but trying to maintain his dignity. “I’m fine,” he managed to say, though his voice was slightly strained.
Clara had stepped back several paces, and I could see the panic starting to set in on her face. She was realizing what she had just done – attacked a visiting Alpha during what was supposed to be a diplomatic
visit.

CHAPTER 74-2
“I’m so sorry,” she said quickly, her voice filled with genuine distress. “I didn’t mean to… I just reacted. I’m really sorry, Alpha Killian,”
She was fidgeting nervously, clearly terrified that she had created some kind of intra pack incident. Her hands were shaking slightly, and she kept glancing between Killian and me like she expected one of us to explode with anger.
Before Killian could respond to her apology, I stepped forward.
“It was just a little kick to remind you what training in Shadowfang Pack looks like,” I said with a slight
smirk. “Our warriors are taught to react instinctively to unexpected contact.”
I couldn’t resist the opportunity to put Killian down, even subtly. He had been holding my woman’s wrist like he had some kind of right to touch her, and I wanted to make it clear that such behavior had consequences in my territory.
“Our training methods tend to be more… intense than what some packs are used to,” I added, letting just a hint of superiority creep into my voice.
Killian straightened up fully, though I could tell he was still feeling the effects of Clara’s knee strike. He looked at me with understanding in his eyes, recognizing that I was making a point about pack hierarchy and territorial boundaries.
“I can see that,” he replied carefully. “Very effective training methods.”
Clara was still looking mortified, so I decided to handle the introductions to give her a moment to calm
down.
