Rejected by My Alpha Now He Replaced Me with a Copycat Luna novel Chapter 4

Chapter 4

The photo showed them locked together against a black SUV, so close the vehicle looked like it was rocking.

The kind of kiss that didn’t leave room for interpretation.

Ronan, who was always controlled, always measured, had spotted the camera mid-kiss.

Instead of pulling away, he’d wrapped his arms tighter around Elise, shielding her like she was something precious.

The shot caught his face perfectly-cold, sharp, daring anyone watching to say a word.

I watched that clip over and over. Couldn’t stop myself.

My tears hit the screen right where her face was pressed against his chest, and all I could see was myself.

The version of me from college. The one who used to look at him like that.

Eventually, I pieced together what happened.

Elise had gotten cornered at some industry dinner, and Ronan played the hero. Stepped in, got her out.

After that? Her career took off like a rocket. Best scripts, best directors, best everything-like someone had greased every wheel for her.

When I finally confronted him, I threw the photos on his desk and waited for him to react.

To apologize. To panic. Something.

He just lit a cigarette, leaned back, and said, “So what do you want?”

“More equity? A side project?” His voice was calm. Too calm.

“We can work something out. Just leave Elise alone. She worked hard for this.”

That hit harder than if he’d yelled.

I didn’t have a dad growing up.

Ronan filled that space-mentor, protector, the guy who taught me how to survive in a world that didn’t give second chances.

He was my teacher first. My mate second.

In the early days of Fenrir Core, I was in over my head constantly.

Ronan was always there, guiding me, covering my blind spots, building a safety net around me with real assets, real security-things that couldn’t just disappear.

I never thought he’d be the one to pull it all down.

“So you tried to tank her career,” Milo said flatly. “Didn’t work, though.”

“Not even close,” I admitted, laughing bitterly. “I was still holding onto hope back then.”

“Hope that it was a mistake. That he’d come to his senses.”

Chapter 4

“Don’t give me that look,” I said, catching his expression.

“I was young. Stupid.”

But Ronan hit back hard. Used his influence to bury the story, protect Elise, keep her rising.

A week later, she landed the lead in a major film.

Same week the first scar showed up on my wrist.

The needle buzzed steadily.

I stared at the fresh ink covering the old wound, the silver wolf slowly taking shape.

“That’s when the first scar happened.”

“Elise came to see me. Looked just like I did back in college. Asked me to step aside so she and Ronan could be together,” I said quietly.

“She actually said, “The one who isn’t loved is the real third wheel.””

I lost it after that.

Paid off bloggers, gossip sites, anyone who’d run the story-exposed her as the other woman who knowingly went after someone else’s mate.

The room went quiet except for the hum of the machine.

Five years had passed. Most of the anger had faded.

But one thing stayed sharp.

“Ronan used Fenrir Core against me,” I said, my voice tight.

“Threatened to destroy the company we built together.”

We’d started Fenrir Core because Ronan didn’t want to rely completely on his pack’s wealth.

It was ours. Built from nothing.

I ran the tech side. Held the core team together.

And for Elise, Ronan was willing to burn it all down.

“You’ve got Fenrir Core,” he’d said, cold as ice. “I’ve still got the Hale Pack.”

Even then, he stayed calm. In control.

“Aurora, everything you have-1 gave you. Including this company.”

“I was so young,” I said softly, shaking my head.

“The night photos of them leaving a hotel together went viral was our bonding anniversary.”

“When I saw that tattoo of her lips on his thigh-that’s when I made the first cut.”

When I woke up in the pack clinic, Ronan was there, Eyes red, holding me like I might disappear.

And for the first time, I gave in.

Because I was pregnant. Three months along.
