Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 14

Emma hadn't been back in six years, and she was still a minor when she left. She had no idea how to set up a domestic bank account.

She had been relying entirely on cash lately.

Ignoring the odd looks from the staff and Tristan, she calmly took out her phone.

Just as she was about to make a call, the dealership manager walked out.

"Ms. Lockwood, correct? I heard you just returned to the country? Perfect timing. We have long-standing partnerships with the banks, so I can personally guide you through setting up an account. How does that sound?"

Emma was a bit startled but didn't overthink it.

She figured Julian must have arranged for someone to help her.

Because of this, she didn't decline the manager's kindness. As she followed him out, she cast one last glance at Tristan.

Tristan's eyes were still full of mockery, and Emma returned it with a cryptic smile.

"I ordered a car abroad a while ago. It should have been delivered to your dealership a couple of days ago, right?"

The manager nodded immediately. "You mean the limited-edition sports car? It arrived the day before yesterday. Do you want to pick it up? Actually, that car isn't really suited for daily driving."

He remembered it clearly. The Shadow Chaser was a globally limited-edition supercar. Almost everyone who managed to buy one had to put down a massive deposit and pay in full upon release.

"No, I wanted to ask about the domestic auto show schedule. I'd like to lease out The Shadow Chaser."

Tristan had loved racing since he was young; his passion bordered on obsession.

If The Shadow Chaser made an appearance at a domestic auto show, she didn't believe he could ignore it.

"Are you really willing to lend out The Shadow Chaser? That's wonderful! Why not lend it to our dealership? We actually have an auto show coming up soon."

The manager was overjoyed. The Shadow Chaser was a walking billboard; it was exactly what he had been praying for.

"Just make sure to send me an invitation when the show happens."

Emma agreed without hesitation, completely waiving any rental fee.

She simply wanted to put the car on display just to see the desperate, longing look on Tristan's face.

"Well... Ms. Lockwood didn't actually pick one. She just told us to choose any comfortable model for her," the staff explained.

Tristan grew even more contemptuous. Emma was just putting on airs using the Lockwood family's reputation.

"Take my advice: she doesn't have any money. Picking a car for her is a complete waste of time," Tristan said firmly. After all, her Lockwood family credit cards had been cut off ages ago.

Her trip to the bank would only end in humiliation.

The staff recognized Tristan. Among the Capital Elite Circle, he was quite well-known, so she cautiously let slip a piece of information.

"Ms. Lockwood's car is a gift from our boss. She doesn't need to pay for it herself."

Tristan's expression instantly darkened.

This dealership was the most mysterious in the capital. No one knew who the real boss was, but they sold everything from domestic to international limited editions; they clearly had massive connections.

Why would such a powerful, mysterious boss gift a car to Emma?

"She must be using the Lockwood name to con people again. The next time I see her, I'm going to teach her a lesson."
