Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 214

Emma sat there with unshakeable composure. Gillian scoffed loudly.

"We have proof that your employee stole the samples!"

Emma's gaze turned dark as she stood up. "The committee looked at your so-called evidence, yet they didn't dare say CFT definitely stole the samples. Do you know why?"

Her commanding presence instantly dominated the room, looking down at them with absolute contempt.

"Because the drug samples you submitted have slight, almost unnoticeable differences from the ones CFT provided. Minor, but fatal."

Gillian's eyes went wide. "What kind of nonsense are you talking about?"

"I developed the drug. Do you really think I wouldn't know?"

Emma turned to VP Levi, who immediately spoke up. "My assistant was bribed to tamper with our samples on multiple occasions. He has already been arrested and is currently in police custody."

Before the bidding even started, Julian had thoroughly investigated what drugs Logan's lab was submitting. Once they figured out who had bought off the assistant, VP Levi called the cops and had him locked up.

Dominic's face fell instantly.

They had found out.

"As for your company using our research to bid and then having the audacity to frame us, we will be filing a lawsuit to hold you fully accountable."

Emma arched an eyebrow, not wasting another breath on them, and turned to leave.

Carter and Sebastian followed right behind her. The moment they stepped through the auditorium doors, a swarm of reporters ambushed them.

She was fully prepared to use the media to bury Logan's lab, but just then, Violet called.

"Calling to beg for mercy again? This stunt has already damaged CFT's public image."

Violet's frantic voice came through the speaker. "Emma, please, can we settle this privately? Don't blow this out of proportion."

"I'm not the one blowing things out of proportion. You people stole my work and then tried to frame me for it."

Emma hung up, her eyes flashing with ice.

"Ah!"

A terrifying scream tore through the air from the top of the grand staircase behind them, sending the crowd into a state of sheer panic.

"Oh my god! Someone fell down the stairs! Her leg looks completely shattered—there's blood everywhere!"

Dominic raised a hand, and suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, "The ambulance is taking too long! Isn't Emma Lockwood a famous doctor overseas? Why don't you perform first aid? You can't just stand there and let her die!"

Instantly, the cameras pivoted toward her. Another voice chimed in, "Yeah! Emma Lockwood is the legendary Dr. Ann! She's an award-winning general surgeon! Doing basic first aid should be a walk in the park for her!"

Emma's eyes narrowed. This was a perfect checkmate.

If she refused, Dominic would unleash a vicious smear campaign against her online, potentially dragging CFT down with her.

If she intervened, there was no telling what other traps Dominic had set.

A man who was ruthless enough to shatter a woman's leg in broad daylight outside a government event was capable of anything.

"If she were a domestically licensed physician, it wouldn't be an issue. But she's not. Emma doesn't hold a medical license here."

Carter stepped forward, shielding her behind him. "How does a grown adult mysteriously fall down a flight of stairs? I have every reason to believe there are criminals hiding in this crowd."

He looked at Chase. "Take her back to the car."

Carter scanned the sea of reporters with a glacial stare as Jeff stepped up, offering a polite but lethal smile.

"Ms. Emma Lockwood is not only the President of CFT, but she is also the wife of Mr. Harrington. I suggest you choose your words very carefully when reporting on the Harrington family."
