Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 234

Emma couldn't be bothered with him, but Tyler relentlessly pressed on.

"What? Did I hit a nerve?"

Emma smirked. "Ten men like you couldn't add up to a fraction of who Timothy is."

The blatant comparison twisted Tyler's face into a furious scowl. "Whether Harrington Corp does business with us or not depends entirely on my word. I suggest you learn your place."

But Carter caught the end of that sentence.

"The Mortons aren't our only option."

Carter strode over with long, purposeful steps, standing firmly by Emma's side. His stance was unmistakably clear.

Tyler's face darkened. He walked away without uttering another word.

"Did he give you trouble?"

Carter asked with genuine concern. Emma shook her head. "Just some internal family drama. His empty threats aren't worth my energy."

"You don't need to tolerate anyone's disrespect. No matter who they are, I can afford to offend them."

Carter's words were filled with fierce protectiveness. A low chuckle escaped Emma's lips.

The next day at the office, Emma gave Timothy a call regarding Tyler's little confrontation.

"Tyler is a useless piece of trash. Don't worry, I'll definitely handle him for you."

Timothy practically spat the words. Emma crossed her legs, flipping through a contract. "No need. I don't care about your family politics, and it's not my place to dictate who Harrington Corp does business with. Just keep your guard up."

"Understood," Timothy agreed. After a brief pause, he added, "By the way, about what happened at the club... I did some digging."

Emma remained silent. She hadn't been particularly invested in the matter.

"That friend of yours is far from simple."

Timothy's cryptic remark successfully piqued Emma's curiosity.
