Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 305

Emma's heart skipped a beat. But before she could react, Carter released her, grabbing his clothes and walking out.

She squeezed the amulet Carter had stuffed back into her pocket and raised a brow.

Was he actually jealous?

Emma changed into her outfit and went downstairs. Percy was the only one sitting on the sofa; Carter had already left.

With a calm expression, she walked over. Thinking of Carter's reaction moments ago, she tossed the amulet back to Percy.

"What is this..."

Percy stood up, utterly bewildered. Didn't she believe in these kinds of things more than anyone else?

Emma marched toward the exit without looking back. "An amulet can't guarantee my parents' safety. Only money can."

She got into the car and called her assistant.

"Ms. Lockwood, there's an information blackout in the affected area. We still can't find out what exactly is going on." Knowing Emma would ask, her assistant had already done some preliminary digging.

Emma gave a curt response. "Put a bounty on the dark web. I want clues, names—whatever it is, I'll pay for any intel. Also, have CFT headquarters prep multiple medical teams and unlock the tier-one miracle drugs for standby."

Sitting beside her in the car, Percy's eyes flickered with surprise.

CFT's specialty drugs came in various forms with vastly different uses, but they all shared one common trait—they were practically elixirs of life.

These medications were the very reason CFT held the absolute monopoly on the global pharmaceutical market. Even with endless wealth, securing these drugs was nearly impossible.

Did Emma actually have the authority to authorize the use of such highly classified medication?

"Understood, Ms. Lockwood. But if we deploy the tier-one drugs, the board of directors..."

Hearing the assistant's hesitation, Percy breathed a sigh of relief.

Emma suppressed the mockery in her eyes, giving a cooperative nod as she casually asked,

"How did you find out about the attack on my parents? Even your cousin didn't know."

Hearing this sent a massive surge of vanity through Percy's chest. He straightened his posture, putting on an arrogant air.

"I told you I was better than him. Carter's reach doesn't extend overseas."

Emma's mind raced. Ever since Raymond injured his leg, all of the Harrington family's overseas enterprises had been consolidated under the main corporate umbrella. Percy's father did have a few overseas businesses, but they were strictly in finance and foreign trade.

A resort island...

Emma froze. If she remembered correctly, the dossier Travis had given her on Tobias Turner mentioned that he owned a five-star resort hotel overseas.

Could this be another one of Tobias's loyalty offerings to Raymond?
