Emma's parting words left the Lockwood family completely on edge.
"Actually... we shouldn't worry too much. What Emma said might not even be true."
Seeing her husband pacing anxiously, Violet tried to comfort him by recounting what she had witnessed at CFT Corporation.
Gillian was the first to burst out laughing.
"Mom, are you serious? You actually saw Emma cleaning floors at CFT?"
Violet shook her head defensively. "Well, not exactly. But I did see her carrying a dirty mop and bucket downstairs. Maybe I just overthought it."
Gillian sneered. "She has a finance degree. What kind of real job could she possibly land at a medical giant like CFT? I thought she was actually somewhat capable, but it looks like she's just using the name of a massive corporation to parade around and act important."
Violet frowned. She hadn't worked a corporate job in decades and had no real understanding of how modern offices functioned.
In her mind, the only person holding cleaning supplies had to be the janitor.
"Logan, you spent so much time abroad. Do you have any inside files on CFT?"
Gillian turned to her eldest brother. If she could be the one to secure a partnership between the Lockwoods and CFT, she could fiercely slap Emma in the face and force her to slink back overseas in disgrace.
"I heard CFT Corporation is currently run by a young Asian professor named Cole."
Gillian narrowed her eyes. It seemed she needed to pay Percy a visit.
She was going to find a way to expose Emma and completely tear off her mask.
Meanwhile, at CFT Corporation, Emma sat in the Vice President's office, reviewing the company's upcoming strategic plans and partnership proposals.
"Hand over the distribution rights for those newly approved patented drugs to the Harringtons. As for the rest..."
Emma flipped through the profiles of domestic companies eager to collaborate. Her eyes landed on the Jennings family's enterprise.
"The Jennings family has been in the pharmaceutical business for generations. They have a strong foundation in traditional medicine. It's just a shame that since Elder Jennings got older, none of the younger generation stepped up to take the reins. The company has been on a steady decline."
Emma's gaze darkened. She was intimately familiar with the Jennings family.
It was her mother's maiden family.
When Violet had married into the Lockwoods, the Jennings family had provided a highly profitable pharmaceutical factory as her dowry. That single small factory had been the catalyst that propelled Charles into the city's elite circles.
