Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 78

Sebastian received the Vance Group equipment introduction card, but no matter who asked, he refused to disclose how he obtained it.

While the Lockwood family focused entirely on preparing to purchase the equipment, Emma, after a rare few days of peace in her life, received a phone call.

It was Phoebe Sterling, asking her out for a meal.

"Are you sure Gillian won't throw a fit if you invite me out to eat?"

Emma found it strange. Phoebe reaching out to her directly—was this another one of Gillian's behind-the-scenes manipulations?

"Gillian doesn't know I'm contacting you. I just feel that after not seeing each other for so many years, we should sit down and share a meal peacefully. If for nothing else, then for the sake of our past friendship."

Emma's gaze grew deep. Before she went abroad, she had genuinely thought about being lifelong friends with Phoebe.

She had kept thinking about her while overseas as well.

Emma really wanted to know why Phoebe had chosen Gillian as a friend.

"Wait for me."

Phoebe was a friend she had chosen for herself back then. She didn't believe Phoebe would choose Gillian over her purely because of her status.

Phoebe hung up the phone, then turned to the person beside her.

"I've asked her out. Where's the stuff I wanted?"

Harvey, who had been kicked by Emma at the bar earlier, smiled slyly and tossed a manila folder in front of her.

"After all these years, you're still the same Phoebe who bares her heart and soul for her friends. President Vance's flight time for tomorrow, his hotel details, and the banquet hall information for the showcase are all in here. Whether Gillian and the Lockwoods can capitalize on this is entirely up to them."

Phoebe grabbed the folder and started to walk out. After taking two steps, she frowned and looked back at Harvey.
