Carter strode over quickly. Hearing his voice, Emma felt an inexplicable sense of relief.

She was huddled in a corner of the restaurant, her face buried in her knees. She looked up slightly, her cheeks flushed bright red.

"Carter... get me... out of here."

Carter didn't need to ask to figure out what had happened. He immediately took off his jacket, wrapped her in it, and scooped her up into his arms.

Emma's upper body, including her head, was completely covered. The bodyguards exchanged confused looks.

Should they just let him take her away?

"I'm taking her to the hospital."

"You have to go to the hospital."

Carter's brows furrowed. Seeing her vehement refusal, he couldn't bring himself to force her. He frantically racked his brain for a solution that wouldn't harm her.

"Take... take me to... Nocturne."

"Find their boss."

Emma bit her lip, her entire body radiating a flushed heat.

Hearing this, Carter's eyes darkened, and he raised his voice to the driver.

"Go to my nearest property."

Carter stared at the restless woman in his arms. The usually aloof beauty was completely consumed by the aphrodisiac, her soft, delicate hands wandering aimlessly, sparking fires all over his body.

He pinned her hands down time and again. Feeling constrained and uncomfortable, Emma pouted in grievance.

"It hurts..."

Her soft, sweet voice made Carter's heart race. Feeling both heartache and helplessness, he had no choice but to let her go, allowing her to squirm around.

Emma leaned against his chest, feeling as if there was a block of ice beside her that could cool her down, and she kept nuzzling deeper into his embrace.
