His mouth curved into that irritatingly charming smile that he often showed to those whose souls he carried to the undeworld. For them he was enchanting, for her Death was creepy. Because every time he smiled, the muscles of his face didn’t move, there were no light in his eyes as if he was swallowing it from its surrounding itself. He looked horrifying no matter how she looked at him and yet people would often say that dearg was beautiful. Oh, how she wished she could open their eyes and prove to them that death was not beautiful.
She crossed her arms over her bosom, letting her body shift to one side as she tipped her chin. "I don’t have time to play games with you. Tell me, why are you here? And what is the reason behind this fuckery? I don’t see a reason as to why you are going around in loop and cleaning after Morga. There has to be a reason, I just know it yet."
"You are asking as if you have no idea about it. Your actions have created deviation in the fates." His voice carried exact same void and dread as it did in the past. Monotonous and devoid of any human emotion. "We had no choice but to take the step to balance the destiny that you have messed up. What else could be done to achieve the balance that you have disrupted?"
"Are you done with your bullshit? I have better thing to do other than listening to your cryptic nonsense and trying to decrypt it. Now you better tell me why are you covering Morga’s arse?" when the man stayed quiet, Tracy rolled her eyes and said to him, "Fine, don’t say a word. I won’t ask you. Burn this place down to hide her traces if you want to but you better not intervene in my shit anymore. Because last time I stopped because of you and we all know how it ended. We had to redo things and I am not good with them."
"Its not funny, not in the least."
Death sighed. He placed down his cutlery and wiped his perfect lips. Full, pink and kissable. But everyone knew what happened when you kiss death. So as tempting as they looked always resist. Period.
"Do you even know how to listen, Tracy? The goddess of magic is having a mess of trouble because of your actions. Why do you need to fight the very thing that gave birth to you? You were supposed to protect and not fight us, Tracy. This is your system, you are one of us." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"That was before I realised how much work you need to do. You speak as if the system is perfect but look around? You let a mental patient escape the asylum and she is causing havoc. And instead of letting the big guys do the job, you are letting a baby do it," Tracy stated with a cold voice, her eyes glimmering with fury. "You know how it always end and yet we have learned nothing. How many more deaths do we need to see before you get the memo that the all mighties need to intervene, or at least help when needed and not to leave everything on the fates. They had lost their touch, gotten older and now are on the verge of almost losing their minds."
Death sighed again. "Are you always so winded? How about you calm down a little? Get laid or something, you can do it like the old times."
Death let out a barking laughter but even so he sounded so enchantingly beautiful that he nearly made her fall head over heels for him. That was one of the cons about death. If you run into him, the chances of escaping were close to null. He was so beautiful that he could make anyone commit the most deadly sin with a smile on their faces as long as he asked them to. Too freaking beautiful to be real. "I understand. I will relay this message to him, but of course he will be upset with what he hears." His eyes flashed with what Tracy knew was amusement. "Then I will be taking my leave now. I believe that you have a lot of pkaces to go."
"See you soon, Tracy."
The promise that he made, made her skin crawl. The room disappeared along with him and she soon found herself in the same cottage, where she had been earlier. She sighed as the barrier that had enevleoped her disappeared at the same time. Time returned to its usual pace and everyone behind her walked inside the cottage. The five men looked like they knew that there was something wrong but they just couldn’t prove it because the cottage looked as normal as any other.
"What just happened?" Dominic asked, his eyes looking around astutely. "I feel like the presence inside the cottage has disappeared."
