He knocked and walked in.

Matthew was sitting in his black leather chair, reviewing a stack of documents.

"What is it?" Matthew asked, glancing up at Gareth.

Gareth relayed Trent's demands word for word.

"Mr. Sutton, you've seen Mr. Sterling's painting. The level of decay is catastrophic. Forget one restorer—even if three of us worked on it together, finishing it in a week is physically impossible! I think Mr. Sterling is deliberately messing with us!"

He had been in the restoration industry for over twenty years and was a highly respected figure.

Naturally, he took immense offense to Trent's unreasonable demands.

Matthew tapped his knuckles rhythmically against the desk.

Was this because he had refused to let Willow join the Azure Atelier the other day? Was Jabez displeased and sending Trent to stir up trouble as payback?

A cold light glinted in his eyes. After a few seconds of deliberation, he dialed Yvette's number.

When Yvette entered the office, she paused upon seeing Gareth's deeply troubled expression.

Gareth had joined the Azure Atelier just six months after its founding; he was essentially one of their founding pillars.

Because Yvette had already stepped away by the time he joined, Gareth had no idea she was actually one of the owners.

Given his masterful restoration skills, ordinary damages were child's play to him. What could possibly have put such a distressed look on his face?

"Mr. Sutton, you called?"

"Mr. Raymond is currently restoring an ancient painting for Mr. Sterling. The damage is severe, and Mr. Sterling is demanding it be expedited. I want you to assist Mr. Raymond with this piece. Put all your other projects on hold."

Yvette nodded. "Understood."

Gareth eyed Yvette up and down.

He had been there the day Yvette was hired, but as far as he was concerned, as long as new hires didn't get in his way, he didn't care.

But...

She was only in her twenties. She looked like she hadn't even been alive as long as he had been working in the industry.

Trent's painting was a hellish nightmare to restore. Assigning some greenhorn girl to assist him? Was Mr. Sutton playing a joke on him?

The canvas wasn't exceptionally large, but it featured over twenty-four incredibly detailed depictions of birds, insects, and other animals.

The avian life included sparrows, doves, bee-eaters, and bulbuls...

The insects ranged from grasshoppers and bees to locusts, longhorn beetles, and cicadas...

There were also two turtles, one large and one small.

Every single creature was remarkably lifelike, perfectly harmonized in color and tone.

Though classical antiquity was the era when traditional bird-and-flower paintings reached their zenith, very few had survived the test of time.

Consequently, this piece held immeasurable historical value.

"You give it a try," Gareth said, his voice laced with frost.

The second she proved she lacked the skills, he was going to kick her right out of his lab.

"Alright," Yvette replied simply.

She might have doubted many things in her life, but when it came to restoration techniques, she had absolute confidence.
