Jabez handed the roses to Willow. "Congratulations in advance."

"Thank you, Jabez." Willow accepted the flowers and looped her arm through his, strategically flashing the matching million-dollar watch on her own wrist.

Playing the perfect gentleman, Jabez opened the passenger door and carefully ushered her inside.

By now, most of the restorers had filed out of the building.

Spotting Jabez, the crowd erupted into hushed, envious whispers.

"Mr. Shelby is so amazing to her! He actually came in person just to pick her up."

"Did you see those watches? They're a couple's set. I saw that piece in a magazine—the women's version is worth at least a million!"

"He really spares no expense. I am so jealous of Ms. Huxley."

"The way he's talking, it sounds like she's already guaranteed a top-three spot."

The adoring chatter drifted perfectly into Willow's ears.

A triumphant smirk spread across her face.

Sitting comfortably in the Maybach, she glanced over to gauge Yvette's reaction, fully expecting to see her drowning in heartbreak and jealousy.

But she was severely disappointed.

Yvette's expression was completely blank, radiating nothing but indifference.

Jabez closed the car door and turned around. Spotting Yvette walking alongside Matthew, his movements hitched for a fraction of a second.

He offered a brief nod in Matthew's direction, but when his gaze landed on Yvette, he merely looked at her before turning away without a single word of greeting.

Matthew returned the nod out of basic courtesy.

Internally, however, he was fuming at Jabez's blatant disrespect toward Yvette.

Yvette couldn't care less about Jabez and Willow's performative romance.

She was already done with Jabez. Whatever he did with Willow was none of her business.

Matthew and Yvette listened with quiet respect.

Winston turned to Matthew. "How is your father's project in the UK coming along? When is he due back?"

"They're in the final stages of the restoration. He called me a couple of weeks ago and said he'd be back in about a month. So, another two weeks," Matthew replied.

Crispin Sutton had been invited by the government to restore Chinese antiquities in the UK, a high-profile cultural exchange project that involved meticulous documentation shared between both nations.

Winston nodded, then looked pointedly at Yvette. "When your mentor gets back, you need to give him a proper apology. He acts like he's made of stone, but he truly cares about you."

"I know. I will," Yvette promised, her fingers tightening around her glass.

Crispin was so furious that he had actually blocked her number. She couldn't even call him, leaving her to send occasional text messages that she wasn't even sure he was reading.

He still had no idea she had returned to the industry.

This time, she was going to prove herself with undeniable results.

The restoration world was about to be hit by a dark horse—Yvette Yeats!
