Chapter 170 Showing the Proof

And the target was none other than the person his own grandson held dearest.

Stanley’s clouded eyes wavered briefly. With unsteady hands, he took the document and skimmed through it.

The paternity results confirmed that Xavier was the biological father of the boy standing right in front of them.

“Mr. Moore, I wouldn’t be so quick to trust that report,” Wilson interjected, stepping closer to Stanley’s side in a show of deference. “If this child were truly legitimate, why would they have hidden him from you all this time?”

His gaze, cold and sharp, fixed on Xavier.

Wilson despised anyone who crossed Stanley-and Xavier was at the top of that list.

Catching the implication in Wilson’s words, Stanley turned to Isabella. “If that’s really the case, why didn’t you just tell me the truth from the start? Why let it come to this?”

Isabella, who had been holding Skyler tightly, rose to her feet. After hearing Stanley, she carefully passed Skyler to one of Jacob’s men and moved quickly to Xavier’s side.

Xavier glanced at her. His complexion was growing paler by the second; it was clear his body was nearing its limit.

Isabella grasped his wrist. His skin was icy to the touch.

A pang of heartache washed over her, turning her eyes red. She took a moment to steady herself before shooting a fierce look at Stanley and Wilson.

‘Did you ever give me a chance to explain? You showed up out of nowhere, took me and my son without a word, accused us of betrayal-

‘This is between Xavier and me. If he hadn’t betrayed my trust back then, I would never have left with our child. Now the Moore family treats us like this-threatening to take my son from me. Did you really expect me to just stand by and let it happen?”

sabella’s heated words gave Stanley pause.

He had to admit-if the boy weren’t Xavier’s, Xavier would never have allowed him to live.

Nor would he be protecting Isabella like this.

50 had Isabella been deceiving him all along?

Trying to turn him against his own grandson and his own great-grandson?

“Call Dr. Ashford. We’re heading to the hospital.”

Isabella didn’t waste another moment on the Moores. Rage simmered inside her, but Xavier was seriously injured-he had to get out of here now,

Noticing the worry etched on Isabella’s face, Xavier managed a faint smile despite the pain, his pale lips curling slightly. He lifted a hand and brushed her cheek gently.

He didn’t speak, but Isabella understood.

Isabella forced herself to stay composed. She nodded. But just as they turned to leave, Wilson motioned to his men, blocking their path.

“Nobody’s going anywhere. Xavier, this is Moore Manor. You don’t get to walk in and out as you please. Even if you leave, the boy and Isabella stay.”

The moment Wilson gave the order, Jacob and his men found themselves surrounded by guards.

A tense standoff ensued. But they were on Moore turf, and Stanley had the numbers. As the confrontation escalated, more reinforcements arrived from downstairs, sealing off every possible exit.

“Grandfather, out of respect for your age, I’d prefer not to have to fight your men.

“For what happened today, I’ll settle for Wilson’s life.

“But if there’s a next time-whether it’s you or anyone else in this family-I won’t be so forgiving.”

Xavier didn’t turn around. His voice was weak, yet each word carried a razor-sharp, merciless edge.

Isabella held his hand. She could feel his body trembling.

Something warm and sticky seeped into her palm-blood, trickling from his wound down his arm.

“Xavier, how dare you speak to your grandfather that way? You’re nothing but a disrespectful traitor to this family!”

Wilson finally snapped. He barked at the guards, “What are you waiting for? Restrain Isabella and the boy!”

“That’s Father’s great-grandson and his grandson’s wife! Father hasn’t given any orders. Who here dares lay a hand on them?”

Teresa finally snapped out of her daze. She stepped forward and shouted at the men around her.

Her words brought them up short.

f either side made a move now, the situation would spiral out of control.

Kavier was already hurt, and Stanley’s men were armed. They wouldn’t stand a chance.

‘Teresa, you have no authority here-”

Wilson’s icy retort was cut off by a stinging slap across the face from Teresa.
