Chapter 180 Interrupting the Kiss
Isabella’s thoughts were spmning, yet a hint of suspicion crept in.
How had Sander learned about Noah’s condition so fast?

Ever since Noah got sick, Xavier had kept things quiet, insisting on privacy. Even when the Moore family wanted to visit, it often upset Xavier-sometimes he’d flat-out say no.
Now, with Noah in critical condition, none of the Moores had made it here yet… but Sander showed up first.
Something about that didn’t sit right.
“Oh, I stopped by my cousin’s office to talk business,” Sander explained smoothly “He wasn’t in, so t checked with Jacob. He mentioned Noah wasn’t doing well, so I thought I’d come by.”
His reply came quickly, tone perfectly natural.
On the surface, it all sounded plausible.
Jacob wouldn’t have shared anything personal between her and Xavier. If Sander had urgent matters, Jacob might’ve just used Noah as a reason to point him toward the hospital.
Still, Isabella couldn’t shake the feeling something was off.
“Noah just fell asleep,” she said evenly. “He needs rest. It’s better not to disturb him.”
She didn’t plan to say more. After that brief warning, she turned to leave.
But Sander stepped forward, blocking her path.
“Isabella… are you still mad at me?”
He spread his hands, voice urgent.
“I promise I won’t bring it up again. If you don’t like it, I’ll drop it.
“Even if we’re just friends from now on-you’re the only real friend I’ve got. I don’t want things to get awkward between us.”
Seeing the sincere look on his face, Isabella felt a twinge of sympathy.
But she knew if she didn’t draw the line now, he’d never move on.
“We were never that close to begin with,” she said quietly, trying to step around him.
But Sander let the bouquet fall and suddenly wrapped his arms around her from behind.
“Sander! What are you doing?”
The move caught her completely off guard. His grip was firm but careful, avoiding her injured arm, hands tight around her waist.
With her hands mostly useless, Isabella couldn’t push him off. Flustered, she felt her face grow warm.

Is it wrong to care about someone?” His voice was soft, almost tender, but underneath ran a thread of something strained, nearly desperate. “I just want to be there for you.”
“I appreciate that you care,” Isabella said coldly, struggling harder to pry his hands loose “But if you really see me as a friend, stop
this now.”
With only one good hand, though, she couldn’t break his hold.
Her nails dug into his fingers, hard enough to leave marks, but Sander didn’t even flinch.
“Why can’t you let him go?”
His words made her freeze.
He went on, voice low. “He’s cold, Isabella. Heartless. Even if this is just some passing phase for him, sooner or later he’ll wreck you. Have you forgotten how he treated you before?”
The words stung.
Isabella wanted to argue, but nothing came out.
It was true. She’d thought she was completely over Xavier…
But her heart kept betraying her, again and again.
Her silence seemed like agreement to Sander.
He let out a quiet, bitter laugh. “Xavier always gets so lucky… everything he wants just falls into his lap.”
“Sander, enough,” Isabella said, her voice firm and icy. “Even without Xavier, there’s no future for us.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Sander spun her around–
As if he’d lost all reason, he pressed her against the wall and leaned in, aiming for her lips…
Isabella jerked her face away, but Sander followed, relentless.
Just before he could reach her, a heavy fist slammed into the side of his face.
The force sent Sander stumbling backward into the wall, then down hard onto the floor.
Isabella gasped. Before she could react, she was pulled against a solid chest.
