Chapter 59 You Lost Him
Sander smiled as he quickly changed lanes.
Inside the Smart Fortwo, Skyler immediately told the driver, “Switch lanes. Follow him.”
“There’s too much traffic up ahead–I can’t drive like this…”
“Then get out. I’ll take over.” Skyler was getting anxious.

Twenty minutes ago, he’d snuck into the Moore Group building. He’d wanted to check out the boss in the CEO’s office–the guy who was probably Isabella’s husband, his father.
But instead, he’d spotted this guy sneaking off the elevator and into the stairwell where Skyler was hiding. A moment later, a Mor Group employee showed up, and the two of them seemed to exchange something.
His gut told him this man was bad news.
Skyler hesitated for a second, then immediately called for a car and followed him.
He wanted to see what this guy was up to.
After all, the owner of Moore Group is my maybe–dad, and the employees are my mom’s people. Gotta handle the outside threats before dealing with family drama.
“A kid like you driving? Your parents teach you how?” The driver was amused.
But while he was talking, the car ahead disappeared from view.
“Great. You lost him.” Skyler’s eyes darkened.
He turned and glared at the driver, who suddenly felt the weight of that stare and decided to keep quiet.
That evening, after a call with Jason, Isabella went to take a shower.
Hannah had texted her earlier, saying she’d found a tough lawyer and that having this person deal with Xavier would probably get things done faster.
But she warned Isabella to play nice with Xavier for now try to sweet talk him into letting her out.
Isabella thought it didn’t sound like Hannah at all. Usually, her advice was to fight tooth and nail
Even if Xavier had a knife, Hannah would just send her a martial arts tutorial video.
But Isabella didn’t overthink it. Hannah was her sister–she wouldn’t hurt her.
Besides, once the legal process started, it wasn’t like Xavier could lock her up forever.
And if he tried? It was perfect–more evidence for the divorce. She would be out even faster.
Halfway through her shower, Isabella realized she was out of body wash.
