“Yeah, if there’s nothing wrong with it, why does it smell like sulfur?”

The reporters were breathing down her neck for answers.

Lilian looked over at Ryan. “Put the lab results up for everyone to see.”

Lilian walked back to the stage and faced the crowd. “This is the data analysis for that plot of land. After the news claimed Light Estate was contaminated with hydrogen sulfide, we brought in a professional team to run tests. It turns out the drainage ditch doesn’t have a drop of hydrogen sulfide in it. The reason it smells like rotten eggs is because there’s a natural hot spring vent right underneath it. Isn’t that right, Robert?”

The room went dead silent for a second before erupting in shock.

“Are you serious? If that place is sitting on a hot spring, the property value just went through the roof.”

Robert stared at Lilian, his eyes bloodshot with rage. I tried to move fast so she wouldn’t find out. Now the secret is out and the whole world knows. I want to rip that girl apart.

“I think everyone understands the situation now,” Lilian continued. “It’s pretty clear why the Soren family wanted this land back. ‘They knew exactly how much it was worth. They tried to buy it over and over, and when I said no, they started this whole smear campaign. They tried to ruin Skyreach Group just to force my hand. Too bad for them, I already found out what they were hiding.”

Robert’s face was twisted with fury. Rowan looked even worse, standing there in total humiliation. He’d walked in acting like he owned the place, and now he looked like a total loser.

Robert gave Lilian a sinister look. “I really underestimated you. I guess this whole press conference was just a trap you set for us.”

Lilian gave him a relaxed smile. “You’re joking, Robert. If you hadn’t shown up to bully me, I wouldn’t have been able to do anything to you, right?”

“Fine. Great,” Robert spat. “You’re smarter than you look. But don’t think this is over. We’ll see who has the last laugh.” He turned to Rowan. “Let’s go.”

They turned to leave.
