Sebastian’s eyes were cold. “Rowan is involved in threatening and framing my fiancée. The evidence is solid. He’s going with the police for questioning.”
Rowan turned pale, panic written all over his face. “Grandpa, don’t let them take me. I’m not going with them!”
Robert gave Sebastian a sharp look. “Even if he threatened Lilian, that’s hardly enough to haul him away.”
“Is that so?” Sebastian said coldly. “What if we add these to the list?” He took a folder from Foster and handed it straight to Robert.
Robert opened the folder. As he read through the contents, his eyes widened in shock. He turned to Rowan, his voice trembling with rage. “You were actually doing this behind my back?”
Rowan felt a surge of dread. He snatched the papers from Robert, and his eyes nearly popped out. “No! Grandpa, this isn’t real! It’s a setup! You have to believe me, I never trafficked drugs or dealt in illegal weapons. I didn’t do any of this!”
“If you didn’t do it, how do they have all this proof?” Robert shouted. “How are there detailed transaction records? And these photos! Don’t you dare tell me that isn’t you. Rowan, you’re an absolute disappointment.”
Sebastian calmly took the folder back and handed it to the lead officer. “Here’s the evidence of his crimes. You can take him now.”
The officer glanced at the files and gestured to his team. “Take him in.”
Rowan glared at Sebastian with pure hatred. “Why? Why are you trying to ruin me?”
Sebastian’s expression remained icy. “I warned you once. If you ever threatened my fiancée again, I’d make the entire Soren Group pay for it. This is just the beginning. Trust me, it’s going to get a lot more interesting from here.”
Rowan shivered at the look in the man’s eyes. He grabbed Robert’s arm, desperate. “Grandpa, save me! You have to save me! I can’t go to prison. Help me!”
Robert looked at his grandson’s begging face. He was livid, but Rowan was still his favorite. He sighed. “Don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can to get you out. Just stay calm.”
He knew there was no way to stop the police right now. The evidence was right there in front of a room full of people. He had to back down.
As Rowan was led away, the room was stunned. Nobody expected the day to end with an arrest.
Robert watched them take Rowan out, then turned a murderous gaze toward Sebastian. “Nice move. You had all this ready to go, didn’t you? You waited for this exact moment to humiliate him in public.”
Sebastian let out a dry laugh. “That’s funny coming from you, Robert. Rowan went after my fiancée. If I didn’t do anything, I’d look pretty pathetic. Besides, if he hadn’t actually committed those crimes, I wouldn’t have been able to get him arrested, would I?”
Robert’s voice dropped to a low growl. “So you’re really going to go to war with the Soren family over a girl? You should remember that in Kingston, we’re on equal footing with Empire Group. If we go head–to–head, there’s no guarantee you’ll come out on top.
