Derrick noticed the sheer panic written all over Foster's face and frowned. "What happened? Did something go wrong at the office?"

"Murphy has made his move," Foster said breathlessly. "Using his position as the second-largest shareholder, he called an emergency meeting and proposed that if the Foster family fails to provide an official update within three days, the board will vote to elect a new chairperson. The motion already has seventy percent approval."

"When did this happen?" Derrick asked, his gaze turning icy.

"Just this morning," Foster replied. "The moment I got word of it, I drove straight here, but I never expected Sebastian to leave the country right at this exact second. What are we supposed to do now? If I'm not mistaken, Murphy and the other directors are going to leak this to the press tomorrow, and then they'll come knocking on your door demanding a confrontation."

Uriel's eyes flashed with anger. "That old parasite. I didn't realize he had such a knack for rallying people to his side. To get that many board members on board, he must have been laying the groundwork behind our backs for a very long time."

Derrick knitted his brows in silent contemplation for a moment before speaking. "What is the exact breakdown of Sebastian's current equity stake?"

Foster answered immediately, "He originally held forty-five percent. But over the last two days, he quietly bought up another twenty percent, which brings his total ownership to sixty-five percent. The beauty of it is that nobody on the board has any idea he controls that extra twenty percent yet."

A mocking smile touched Derrick's lips. "Well, then that makes things even simpler. If they want to come here and force my hand, let them. I'll be waiting. I refuse to believe a senile old fool can cause any real damage to us."

Foster hesitated, looking uncertain. "But with Sebastian away, I'm worried you won't be able to keep them in line." After all, from what Foster knew, Derrick had largely stepped back from the day-to-day corporate world years ago. Even at Austine Financial Group in Murica, Sebastian was the one handling all the major executive decisions.

Uriel let out a cold laugh. "If my husband can't handle a handful of mid-level directors, he wouldn't be the man he is today."

The corner of Derrick's mouth curved into a dangerous, sharp smile. "Don't worry. If I can't swat down a few pests, I have no business running this family. They gave us a three-day ultimatum, right? Fine. I'll string them along for exactly three days."

"Understood," Foster said. At this point, it was their only viable option. He could only pray that Sebastian wrapped up his business and hurried back as quickly as possible.
