Ten hours later, a private jet touched down smoothly on the helipad at the Austin Estate.
Sebastian stepped off the aircraft with measured, deliberate strides. He wore a tailored black suit that accentuated his sharp, imposing presence, his long fingers casually fastening the middle button of his jacket as he moved.
A sleek black sedan was already waiting for him a short distance from the runway. An associate stepped forward and said, "Everything has been arranged exactly according to your instructions, sir."
A chilly resolve flashed through Sebastian's dark eyes. "Let's go." Without another word, he climbed into the back seat.
The car sped through the city, pulling up an hour later before the massive wrought-iron gates of a sprawling estate. The ornate gates slowly swung inward to grant them entry.
A moment later, the vehicle brought them to a halt right in front of the main house.
The moment the group stepped out of the car, the head butler, who had been waiting by the entrance, greeted them with a perfectly practiced smile. "Welcome, Mr. Sebastian."
"Where is Eric?" Sebastian demanded, his voice entirely devoid of warmth.
The butler maintained his professional smile. "He is inside. Right this way, please." He led the group into the main residence and toward the drawing room, where he turning to a nearby maid and instructed, "Bring some tea."
Sebastian took a seat on the sofa with an air of cold detachment. "Don't bother," he said sharply. "I came here exclusively to see Eric. Where is he?"
