Chapter 21: Treatment
She approached the young woman gently, her voice barely above a whisper. “Lillian, are you absolutely certain you can handle this?”
Lillian’s expression remained steady, her demeanor calm and collected. “There’s no other choice left. We’ve already lost too much time.”
Nodding in agreement, the man said, “Then let’s not waste a single moment more.” Though he had only just met Lillian, something about her quietly confident presence struck a chord deep within him. She was unassuming yet composed, radiating an authenticity that was rare and refreshing.
Lillian met Ella’s eyes and gave a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can.” With that, she moved toward the elderly man.
The man dressed in black didn’t dare interfere. Mr. Arron’s life hung in the balance, and any mistake could bring unbearable consequences.
Kneeling beside the old man, Lillian delicately placed her fingers on his wrist, feeling for his pulse.
Nearby, the man in black watched her closely, his hands clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white with tension.
After a moment of careful assessment, Lillian withdrew a slender silver needle from her jade bracelet. A cold gleam flickered in the light, and suddenly, the air around them seemed to chill. The onlookers held their breath, captivated by the intensity of the moment.
They had seen needles like this before, but the one in Lillian’s hand was clearly something extraordinary—more than just an ordinary medical tool.
With swift, graceful motions, she inserted the needle into the old man’s body. Every movement was precise and deliberate, each one executed with practiced confidence. The crowd watched in silence, eyes fixed on her hands as if willing the procedure to succeed.
“Do you understand what she’s doing? It almost seems unbelievable,” someone whispered.
“Not really,” another replied, “but look at Mr. Arron’s face—his color is improving! I never imagined this young woman’s medical skills were so advanced.”
Little did Lillian know, this spontaneous intervention would soon make her name echo throughout high society. Rumors of her remarkable abilities would spread like wildfire, earning her the reputation of a young miracle healer.
Not far away, Mia stared at Lillian with burning resentment. If it weren’t for this calm and collected girl’s sudden interference, Mia’s plan would have unfolded perfectly.
Her original scheme had been to utterly destroy Olivia’s reputation in front of the elite. But because of Lillian, everything had been completely derailed.
Meanwhile, Ethan observed Lillian with admiration burning in his eyes. He had never encountered anyone quite like her before. How many hidden talents did this girl possess, he wondered silently.
Minutes passed slowly, the tension in the room palpable. Gradually, the old man’s complexion began to return to its natural hue, his breathing steadied, and his condition visibly stabilized.
With a gentle flick of her wrist, Lillian withdrew the silver needles, which seemed to respond to her touch as they effortlessly returned to her hand.
