Chapter 262: Celestial Restaurant
Sebastian had drifted into the most profound sleep he’d experienced in quite some time. When his eyes finally fluttered open, he found the girl nestled comfortably in his arms, her steady, gentle breathing radiating a quiet warmth that filled him with an unspoken sense of peace and satisfaction.
In slumber, all the sharpness she carried during the day seemed to melt away. She resembled a delicate kitten, her tiny hand gripping the fabric of his shirt as she instinctively pressed closer. The tender sight stirred something soft within his heart. Unable to resist, he bent his head and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Perhaps his gaze held too much intensity, for slowly, Lillian began to stir. Her eyelashes fluttered open, revealing sleepy eyes that met his own clear, glassy ones. At that moment, memories of the night before rushed back in full force. A blush crept up her cheeks. Despite living together for over two years, they had never shared a bed until now.
Sebastian noticed the flush and smiled softly, a rare tenderness in his expression. A girl like Lillian—so guarded yet so vulnerable—was truly one of a kind.
Caught off guard by the warmth in his eyes, Lillian stammered, “I-I’m going to wash up.”
Without waiting for his reply, she slipped out of the bed and hurried toward the bathroom, her movements quick and slightly flustered. Watching her retreat like a startled fawn, Sebastian chuckled deeply, amused by the unexpected sweetness she revealed in moments like this.
When Lillian finished freshening up and changed into fresh clothes, the room felt empty—Sebastian was nowhere to be found. Confused, she turned just as the door opened, and he walked in. His hair was still damp, darker from a recent shower, and he wore a clean set of clothes.
“You—” she began, surprised.
Sebastian crossed the room in a few strides, taking her hand gently and picking up her purse from the table. “The Imperial Hotel is owned by the Empire Group. I have my own suite here. Next time, just stay in my room,” he said with quiet authority, then led her toward the door.
Suddenly, everything made sense. Lillian realized why he had been able to enter her room so freely.
Outside, Foster was already waiting by the sleek black car.
Once inside the back seat, Lillian turned to Sebastian. “Where are we headed?”
He pulled her close, his lips brushing softly against her hair. “Breakfast. I want you to try Kingston’s specialties.”
