Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 264

Chapter 264: Vivian’s Fear

The instant Lillian caught sight of the woman, a jolt of recognition surged through her—Vivian. The very person who had shaped her tragic destiny in a past life. She hadn’t anticipated encountering her so soon; life had a cruel habit of placing old enemies directly in her path when she least expected it.

“What exactly,” Lillian asked with a cool edge to her voice, “did that lady just call me?”

Sebastian’s sharp eyes scanned the woman’s face carefully. Foster had once done a background check for him, and this woman was known to be Henry’s last wife from the Sinclair Group. Now, as Vivian stared at Lillian with wide-eyed shock, a shadow crossed Sebastian’s expression. Could it really be…?

Vivian shook off her stunned daze, forcing a tight, unnatural smile. “Oh, I must have been mistaken,” she murmured, her gaze flickering over the girl before her. This young woman was even more striking—her delicate features honed by flawless beauty, an almost otherworldly aura that set her apart, every movement dripping with grace. And those eyes… like distant stars, impossible to tear one’s gaze away from. Vivian had to admit, there weren’t many in all of Kingston who could hold a candle to her.

Lillian’s lips curved into a cold, mocking smile as she glanced once more at Vivian before turning away. She walked out of the Celestial Restaurant beside Sebastian, unfazed by Vivian’s sudden appearance.

Frozen in place, Vivian watched Lillian’s retreating figure, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. She swallowed hard, struggling to suppress the rising panic that clawed at her insides. Who was that girl? Why did she bear such a striking resemblance to that cursed Catherine? Could it possibly be the child from all those years ago? No… those people had said Lillian was sold off to some distant place. There was no way she could have returned.

A cold, dreadful thought crept into her mind. No… it can’t be…

Her eyes darkened, sharp with determination.

No matter what, she needed to uncover the truth. Without a word, she spun around and hurried away, leaving the group of socialites she’d been chatting with staring after her in confusion.

“What’s going on with Vivian?” one of them whispered.

“Guilty conscience, clearly,” another replied. “Do you know who Catherine was? Henry’s first wife. Such a tragedy—she died young. I heard she had a daughter too, but the girl vanished during Vivian’s second year in the house. They say she died from illness, but who really knows?”

“Catherine was such a brilliant, stunning woman. Gone far too soon,” someone added softly.

“And that homewrecker,” a third woman scoffed, “still trying to worm her way into our circle? Pathetic. Come on, let’s eat before this drama gets worse.”
