Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 294

Chapter 294: A Woman’s Madness

Lillian’s words struck with precision, cutting off any chance Hans had of escape. Faced with no alternatives, Hans found herself forced to comply, trapped by the weight of the moment.

All of them.

The woman’s face shifted subtly, unease flickering across her features like a shadow. Everyone watching—sharp, perceptive—caught the change immediately. They might have been deceived before, but now, if they failed to see the truth, it would be a direct affront to their intelligence.

“Since Ms. Hans appears unwilling to cooperate,” Sebastian declared, his voice cold and distant, “I don’t mind if someone else… assists her.”

That final thread of hope Hans had been desperately clutching snapped like brittle glass.

She had adored him, treasured him as if he were a rare gem, yet in his eyes, she was less than nothing. A white-hot fury ignited inside her chest, fierce and uncontrollable.

Her eyes grew red, and rage twisted her expression as she shot him a glare full of venom. “Why? Why are you doing this to me? Tell me—what does that woman have that I don’t? That shallow, simpering little tramp… what right does she have to stand by your side, to soak up your affection? She’s nothing—an orphan, a nobody, a stray without a name or family! I love you with everything I have, and yet you can’t even spare me a glance. Instead, you… you crush my heart like it’s worthless!”

Tears welled up and spilled over, but her gaze hardened, sharp and poisonous as she turned her fury toward Lillian. “That’s right. I set this up. I just wanted him to see you for who you really are. Is that so wrong? Everyone saw it—Ryan had his hands all over her, and she didn’t even try to push him away. So what if I drugged him? At least now, everyone can see her true colors.”

A wave of shocked gasps rippled through the room. The disbelief was tangible—no one could accept that Hans, a woman who had carefully crafted an image of elegance and grace, could reveal such raw spite, such ruthless cruelty.

Lillian’s gaze remained steady, lips curling into a cold, knowing smile as her fingers quietly sealed the small vial in her hand. No one noticed the subtle motion—except Janus. His sharp eyes caught it immediately.

Hans froze, stunned and blinking in confusion as the atmosphere shifted around her. Her mind fogged over; she couldn’t understand why all eyes were on her. Wasn’t she supposed to be stepping forward for the test? Why was she just standing there?

Lillian tilted her head slightly, her voice dripping with sweet mockery. “What’s the matter, Ms. Hans? Cat got your tongue? I was actually enjoying the show. Your noble, self-sacrificing love—it’s just so… touching. Who would have guessed you were so hopelessly infatuated with Sebastian that you’d stoop to schemes like this, just to ‘expose’ my so-called true colors? How… moving.”

Hans’ face drained of every bit of color, turning a ghostly white. She staggered back two steps, panic flashing wildly in her eyes. “You’re lying. I don’t know what you’re talking about. It was you and Mr. Ryan—we caught you. Don’t try to twist this around.”
