Wayne, I’m counting on you to manage that side.” She then shifted her gaze to Ryan. “As for the financial investments, besides the few companies I just mentioned, the rest are yours to handle.”

The companies Lilian had handpicked were those she believed held great promise for the future. That was why she had entrusted Ryan with the priority of closing deals with them.

“Understood. I’ll get started immediately,” Ryan replied, then glanced at Wayne. “How about your progress?”

Wayne gave a firm nod. “I’m clear on everything I need to do moving forward.”

Just as Lilian was about to invite them both out for lunch, her phone buzzed. She checked the caller ID and answered without hesitation. “Mr. Jacob, hello.”

“Yes, I remember. The meeting’s set for two this afternoon, correct?”

“Perfect. Let’s meet in front of the building.”

After hanging up, she turned back to the two men. “I was planning to take you both out for lunch, but something just came up. I’ll have to take a rain check.”

Ryan smiled broadly. “Well, that means you owe us one. I’ll treat Wayne to lunch today and show him around the company while we’re at it.”

“Sounds good,” Wayne added. “Ryan can give me the tour, and it’s a great excuse for us to catch up. It’s been too long.”
